That's because his allegiance lies with THIS FLAG.

I wondered; not only did the picture look older (remember, I'm using a rural satellite internet, so I don't get the video; I just look at the preview picture) ... but I also seem to recall the outrage *at that time* about this....

One has to wonder: Why is this wannabe-news source posting a video from 2008 on March 19, 2014? Slow news day? Needed to get some excitable people worked up?

And the fact that they didn't acknowledge that it was from 2008 ... well, sorry Judith, but those guys have NO credibility with me now.

Obama also puts his feet up on the White House desk. (gasp!)
And he doesn't wear a flag label pin.

    etc. etc.

Oh, don't get me wrong: I'm not happy with the lack of patriotic observances. Never have been.

But to call this "news"? Nah.

If you took the time to check it out you would know it was true. Snopes lists it is true.

Everything is news to those who have not seen it.

Didn't say it wasn't true. I said, a "news" website that posts a video of something that happened 6 years ago, and doesn't identify that it happened 6 years ago -- thereby implying that it was recent -- is playing really loose with the truth, and therefore is suspect in their motives and "reporting."

As for it not being news: what did posting a 6-year-old video accomplish, other than tell us what we already know? It made headlines, and several threads on this very message board back before the first election ... and he got elected anyway, and then re-elected.

So what did this "news" source accomplish?

Maybe it made her feel like she was contributing something?

Bet she's good and over it now though.

While I personally wouldn't agree with the disrespectful attitude displayed in most of the online remarks that were included with the OP's cited internet link, or, for that matter, even some of the above ones that have been posted above, I do believe that, at least to some extent, most all of these negative comments display (at least to me anyway) a rather unbiblical attitude towards not only the person who happens to hold the office to which he was elected by most Americans--namely that of our Chief Executive--but also (and, I might add, more importantly) the very office itself.

Please don't get me wrong....I don't care one iota for the man (or, for that matter, most of the people who serve in his administration either). This man has probably done more in his 5 years in office to destroy what our Founding Fathers sought to establish in 1776 than most all of the US Presidents before him combined!

That being said, however, I still find in my Bible what the Holy Spirit inspired the Apostle Paul to write in Romans 13:1-2--"Let every soul [i.e., person] be subject to the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God. Whosoever, therefore resisteth the power, resisteth the ordinance of God: and they that resist shall receive to themselves damnation [i.e., "judgment " {as per the NKJV, ESV, & most other more modern versions}].

One needs to consider that when these words were penned by the Apostle Paul, "the powers that be" at that point in time happened to be the empire of Rome, which had as its head Emperor Nero--a man that was, to say the least, "not exactly early Christianity's 'best friend.'"

Moreover, I'm not saying that we, as Bible-believing Christians, should never criticize our duly elected and/or appointed governmental officials. Our nation's Constitution's First Amendment guarantees us that right to do so.

OTOH, I just wonder how many of us folks (me included!) lift our leaders up in prayer as much as we criticize them?

That very same Apostle Paul was also led by the very same Holy Spirit to also admonish young Timothy in 1 Timothy 2:1-2 as follows: "I [Paul] exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; for kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty."

The sovereign God that we serve has allowed (at least until his successor is inaugurated on January 20, 2017) Mr. Obama to serve as this republic's 44th President.

Until then, much as most of us here in BB Land probably oppose most everything for which he stands and has done, we still need to pray for him, his family, and (most of all) the nation over which he presides.

Nothing in 2014, but I bet Obama has put his hand over his heart when the national anthem is sung ever since the video was posted 6 years ago.
