Administration delays Keystone decision again; Congressional Democrats up in arms

Fox News: ‘Ridiculous’: Administration punts on Keystone, Obama faces Dem revolt

The Obama administration once again has punted on a final decision for the Keystone XL pipeline, announcing ahead of the holiday weekend it is extending a key review period indefinitely -- a move that could push off a determination until after the midterm elections.

Republicans, as well as red-state Democrats who want the proposed Canada-to-Texas pipeline approved, slammed the administration for the delay. Democrats even threatened to find ways to go around the president to get the project approved.

"It's absolutely ridiculous that this well over five year long process is continuing for an undetermined amount of time," Sen. Heidi Heitkamp, D-N.D., said in a statement.

Republican Nebraska Rep. Lee Terry called the decision "shameful," noting that another spring construction season will come and go without the project.
Last month they let him know they didn't want him showing up on the campaign trail. Now they're threatening to pass legislation he'll veto, which they apparently believe they can override.

Should be an interesting summer.

Thanks for posting this thread! My cynical opinion is that Obama wants to keep gas prices high no matter what. Hopefully, this will cost the Democrats many seats in the Congress in November! At least we can pray that the Democrats will lose in November so that we can become prosperous again. The GOP needs a 2/3rds majority to override Obama's certain vetoes of anything related to economic improvement, as you know. Cheap gasoline would put a lot of people back to work. Do you ever find yourself wondering if Obama is mentally ill?

Keystone will not do anything to bring gas prices down here. It is to get Canadian oil to the gulf to export.

Money received from US labor and usage fees is better then money (and food stamps) hot of the printing presses with no goods and/or services in return.
