Could this ever happen?

Imagine this.

During the cold war Russia & Cuba join forces and plan a tactical/strategic/ and stealth attack on the US by coming in through Mexico. They quickly take control and conquer the small towns and suburbs before moving onto the big cities. The US has no defenders except England and the allied forces won't last long against the large USSR war machine. Russia has such a hatred for the US that US civilians are put into re-education camps and treated like Hitler treated the Jews during WWII. Americans are executed by gunfire publicly and randomly. Suspicious americans are given no trials, just executed, and anyone caught aiding any freedman fighters and or Guerrilla's are quickly executed publicly. Do you think such a thing could ever happen? Thats the synopsis of the movie Red Dawn which is quite paranoid and exaggerated as I don't think the USSR could ever be so cruel. The later version of Red Dawn North Korea is shown to be very pacifist in comparison to the former Soviet Union. Or could Russia be as cruel as they were in the movie? History Buffs?

Look at Russia's treatment of the conquered peoples of Eastern Europe and especially Germany during and after WWII.

That said, any country has a capacity for cruelty.

Probably the first thing the Russians would realize is that thanks to Obama they are vastly outgunned by Mexican drug cartels who quickly kill all of them.

In 1984 and the Cold War under Ragen this was not the case I bet. But before my time.

Yeah the film takes place in a rural red neck Colorado town. Lots of people own guns in that town and raegan was then president.

My understanding is that gun ownership has increased in recent years, much of it in response to the present administration's policies.

"Yeah the film takes place in a rural red neck Colorado town."

Though filmed in south east Nebraska. Was to speak in a church there - drove into town and thought I had taken a wrong turn :)

Perhaps, however rural Colorado is a gun owner zone. But Obama and the Democrat governor do not like this.

Ever hear of the Russian gulags? Ever read anything by Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn?

It's more than possible. Had they ever been able to achieve military superiority over the U.S., it most certainly would have happened.
