About the time I was posting this, it came out that Costco has now reversed the decision, but still ...
In the book, D'Souza takes on the undermining of the concept that America is essentially good, at least from the perspective of her motives. He challenges the message that America's history is one of theft and plunder, alleged by the progressives, liberals, and Marxists as being the defining features of American history. He knocks down the straw men of the theft of Native American and Mexican lands and the exploitation of African labor, and moves on to disprove the basis for claims that, prior to Obama's presidency, our foreign policy was based on stealing oil and promoting a capitalist system that robs people of their "fair share."

A movie based on the book debuted last weekend in theaters nationwide.

Now why would Costco take such a book off the shelves? Reports now indicate they've "changed their minds," but only because of negative publicity about it the last 48 hours -- but mysteriously none from any of the major media outlets, including Fox, National Review and Weekly Standard. Hm.

    To quote another post:

Just in case you didn't know, you do have the option of ignoring any post that doesn't appeal to you.

Personally I thought it was an interesting post.

I ignored several others; you can do likewise & save some frustration.

Proves once again that liberals are afraid of anything that is not out of their own playbook. Indicates a weak ideology that is tough to defend.

There are a lot of people on this forum with skid marks on the tops of their heads where the point went flying over...

OH no, no, no, we must all stop posting things that ITL, Zaac, and crabby do not like. Or they will team up and jeer at us with their smilies of condemnation.

Sounds like an interesting read. I like reading opposing views to see if mine will change or if I can learn something.
What do you think of him pleading guilty to finance fraud? I believe many people are forced into guilty pleas when they are not guilty, often in order to protect themselves from more harmful allegations or when they know that corruption in the system means they will be found guilty even if innocent, so better take that chance at a plea and lower sentence.
Just trying to gauge his trustworthiness. Others may be more familiar with his career as a whole than am I.

TND's post (in essence): Costco pulled this book... wait, no they didn't... but I'll post the story about the book being pulled.... even though it's not.

How is this a news story?

Head of Costco is Obama supporter - was totally shocked at the backlash from members - evidently it was fast and big.

How do you know this? The OP states that Fox News, Weekly Standard did not make a big noise about it. Who made the noise and where was it reported that they made noise about it?

Fox reported on negative consumer reaction to Costco pulling the book? Rev, do you have a link? Because I've been searching around for info on this. Hannity had the author on his show yesterday, but there was nothing about negative reaction, at least that I could find.

Looks like the Costco Facebook page has been getting hammered with protests. Twitter is fairly active as well.

Don't do fox - Rush reported what I posted and a Google just now had one site say it was on Costco's Facebook and site.
