Urkainian prime minister resigns

U.S. News & World Report: Ukrainian Prime Minister Resigns, Parliament Offers Concessions to Protestershttp://www.usnews.com/news/articles...s-parliament-offers-concessions-to-protestershttp://www.usnews.com/news/articles...s-parliament-offers-concessions-to-protesters

Ukrainian Prime Minister Mykola Azarov resigned Tuesday, though demonstrations continued to rage in the country.

Azarov said that he would step down to encourage "social and political compromise," the BBC reported. President Viktor Yanukovych accepted the resignations of Azarov's cabinet as well.

Protesters have accused Azarov of mismanaging the economy and enabling corruption in the government. His resignation coincided with the Ukrainian parliament voting to annul a controversial anti-protest law that was recently instated as a means to discourage the opposition.

Parliament also discussed giving amnesty to more than 200 anti-government demonstrators that have been arrested since the protests began in late November. The Associated Press reported lawmakers will continue to consider the measure Wednesday.
The capitol has been in chaos since November, primarily due to a small minority of pro-Russian protestors who objected to the ouster of Russian sympathizer and prime minister Viktor Yushchenko. While the protestors have claimed only to want what is best for Ukraine, most of them are believed to be influenced by Russian activists who want to help Vladimir Putin reconstitute the old Soviet empire.

You left out an inconvenient truth. Yuschenko was democratically elected in 2010 by the people of the Ukraine. (Maybe if I emphasize this sentence it will actually be noticed.

His ouster was engineered by NATO and pro-Western forces involving, as well, moneyed interests both within and without that country.

And, yes, the US has a big part in that regime change - and a host of others. We talk really big about democracy, but we really mean giving people a chance to side with us. But if countries or presidents show a stubborn streak of self-determination then we go to plan B. What was once opportunity downgrades to actual coercion.

This has happened time and again with our "Land of Liberty": Vietnam, Guatemala, Iran, and Iraq are just a few nations that come to mind that had the results of a legitimate election overturned by our country's resorting to Plan B (usually involving CIA, Blackwater, etc.).
While the protestors have claimed only to want what is best for Ukraine, most of them are believed to be influenced by Russian activists who want to help Vladimir Putin reconstitute the old Soviet empire.

"believed to be". Yes, this is opinion, not fact. The State Department uses the same phrases now in their backtracking of their previous vociferous and certain accusations concerning the downed plane.

Strange how people will skip over all the facts they don't like so they can push an opinion as if it were fact, isn't it?

Strange, but not unexpected. That was how many of them were over to the position, so they use the same method trying to convince others.
