The Best Is Yet To Come

    Just listened to some good preaching by Dr. David Jeremiah. He ended with this beautiful illustration of what those whom Christ bought with his precious blood can most assuredly expect when they enter heaven.
    A lady made a strange request to her pastor when it became apparent she was not going to stay on earth much longer. She asked him to help prepare her list of hymns and messages she wanted sung and delivered at her memorial service.
    Finally, she asked that she be buried with a fork in her left hand and when asked the reason for this strange request she related how as a child she remembered that after initial meals at church lunch every Sunday one of the deacons would tell the members to hold on to their forks because the best is yet to come.
    Such a wonderful thought showing one's faith that the hope one clings to the promise that the best is yet to come.

    Not verbatim but I just had to share this to all because I expect whether one is Calvinist, Arminian, Primitive Baptist, or Southern, we all look forward to the best that is yet to come.:jesus:

    I heard that same message this morning coming home from work. I disagree with Dr. Jeremiah on some things, but that was good stuff.

    Yes. Very edifying. :thumbsup: IMHO. He is one of the non_electionists out there I forgive for being non_electionist. Lol. Now THAT was a joke.:smilewinkgrin:

    Maybe I'm a hopeless optimist, but I still see life like that. The older I get, the less doubt there is, and more faith, because I keep seeing how questions end up answered, how the Word keeps proving true, and that means life here on earth gets better and better, more joyful. It's a lot more difficult to stay angry and such when you know and have repeatedly experienced things working out for good!

    So here, there...still looking forward to the best.
