'Die-in' threat linked to school counselor probed

The Central Bucks School District and Montgomery County are investigating a threatening message, posted on social media, attributed to the accounts of a Central Bucks High School West employee.

The post, appearing on the Facebook and Twitter accounts of MaryKate Blankenburg, a guidance counselor at the high school, addressed potential protesters at the Eagles game Sunday.

"If my child cannot get to the Eagles game due to protesters, I will personally SHOOT every one of them. You've been warned idiots!!" read the post.

Officials did not say whether Blankenburg was the author of the message attributed to the accounts. Efforts to reach Blankenburg were unsuccessful.

Demonstrators staged a peaceful "die-in" after the Eagles game Sunday night to protest killings by police, such as those of Michael Brown in Ferguson, Mo., and Eric Garner in Staten Island, N.Y.

Central Bucks Superintendent David Weitzel became aware of the post Sunday and said in a statement Monday that the school district was "responding with urgency and concern" to investigate it.

The district contacted the Bucks County District Attorney's Office, but upon learning that Blankenburg lives in Montgomery County, District Attorney David Heckler referred the case there, he said.

Weitzel said the school district would "take appropriate action" after learning the facts.

Before she worked at the high school she was a guidance director at a military academy. Apparently the child that she so desperately wants to bring to the Eagles game is 11 years old. Ya know, Eagles fans are some of the most obnoxious people in the world. I guess wanting to shoot peaceful protesters to death in order to attend the game bolsters that claim.

Short bio here.

People need to learn to get over themselves and not be so politically correct all the time. Big deal, someone made a comment on twitter. I celebrate her freedom of speech.

This is lose ,lose. If she didn't do it, she just made an 11 year old look like he's in serious need of some therapy from someone with better credentials than his mother.

She's been quoted as saying one of her kids in her Sunday School class got a hold of her iPad and posted it.

The Intelligencer published they spoke with Blankenburg by phone Sunday night. They quoted her say saying, a child "might have gotten hold of my iPad" while she was teaching Sunday school.

So now she's throwing a SS kid under the bus? She should have just said it wasn't me and we're investigating to see if we can determine who it was.

But that lil tweet was written like an adult. Kids grammatically don't write much of anything that concise and polished.
