    It’s the most wonderful time of the year. Well, at least for the Obamas.

    The White House has announced that the Obama clan will be heading on a 17-day Christmas vacation to Hawaii, making it the seventh straight year in the Aloha State.

    “On Friday, the first family will depart the White House en route to Honolulu, Hawaii — a flight that I know the president himself is eagerly looking forward to,” said spokesman Josh Earnest.

    Posted on the Washington Examiner via Pacific Business News, “Obama has rented a private home in Kailua on past holiday vacations, and typically spends his time working out at the nearby Marine Corps Base Hawaii, playing golf, catching up with Punahou School classmates and dining out at such restaurants as Alan Wong's Honolulu, Nobu at the Modern Honolulu and Buzz's Original Steakhouse in Kailua.”

    In a speech to the troops, Obama could not resist calling them Santa Claus in an apparent attempt to insult them. He was met with silence. With his departure for another luxury vacation, the demonstrations might end.

    Look, I don't like the president -- but "apparent attempt to insult them"? What was the insult? How about "stupid attempt at a joke that no one got or understood"?
