Charges for driving without license and registration... while walking

A woman in Hamlin, Texas is fighting charges of driving without a license and expired registration after she was arrested and jailed by cops while WALKING home with groceries.

Wendy Robins is appealing for help with her case as she fears the police department is pursuing a vendetta against her by refusing to drop the charges.

The charges stem from the incident which took place in November. Ms Robins says she was minding her own business walking home from the local store when she was physically accosted by an officer.

    < snip >

Robins also notes that she produced a valid license and registration for the judge, proving that even if she was driving, she had the relevant credentials.

STILL the charges were not dropped, and the case continues. The arresting officer has not been disciplined in any fashion.

Can't find Wendy Robbins in any Texas arrest report.
    But….
I'd like to know where her car was, as well.
She was written two citations, and refused to sign either one. That is an arrest able offense in almost every state, as it is in Texas. Instandard, I believe is the term.

poncho, this is a nowhere story. Do better.

More to this story than we are being told. Woman likely was seen driving, ditched the car, and then started walking.

Interesting. She says that she produced a valid license and registration for them so even if she was driving, it would have been legally.

But who knows when that was renewed.

My problem with this is the same as it was in the Eric Garner case. If you see someone breaking the law, why not just arrest them on the spot instead of waiting?

If she was driving without a license and registration, and you saw her ditch the car which she probably did, then why not arrest her at the store?

    Yep.

One sided story. Seems to be a lot missing. Doesn't ring true at all.

I think this continues to show cops that are just out of control. If the man has his hazard lights on, why on earth do you have to jump out of your car and speak to him like he just robbed a bank?

    Searching Google News:
    Can't find Wendy Robins
Can't find Officer Chad Boyett or Chad Boyett

    Searching Google Web:
Chad Boyett is apparently an employee of the private security company, Statewide Patrol Inc.

    https://www.txdps.state.tx.us/rsd/psb/individual/individual_details.aspx?id=Gkk48164G

    Nothing on Wendy Robins

The "news" article on InfoWars, supposedly written by Steve Watson is simply a summary rehash of Wendy's autobiographical account published here: http://www.copblock.org/103488/arrested-driving-without-license-walking/

Now all that is needed is for another conspiracy site to quote Steve Watson's "article" as if it were a news story and you will then have the circle complete--somebody alleges something, someone else quotes them, then someone else quotes the quoted story. Pretty soon it almost looks legitimate.

Thought you were describing how you got buffaloed into believing the Russians invaded Ukraine by the mainstream corporate media and the Atlantic Council of international bankers and hedge fund managers blog there for second.

Funny thing that most all your sources stood to gain from the overthrow of the democratically elected Ukrainian government and the civil war that followed, eh?

I imagine you still believe Russia invaded Ukraine because the "credible" mainstream corporate sources told you so. So what there's no evidence, all the "credible" sources agree!

    Let's stick with Wendy Robbins…..

We researched it, and we can't verify it happened. Second, if her story is actually true, and she refused to sign the citations, than the arrest was justified.

Would you admit her story is difficult to verify, at best ? Would you admit we actually looked into the claims, or you just going to tell us we don't know what news is ?

I will not just blindly support everyone who has a negative experience with cops. No matter what color, gender, religion, dress, or anything else.

I do agree. I wish everyone was so keen on investigating every story from every source.

Would you agree with that? Or are you going to just tell us that only "alternative media" sources need to be investigated? I will not just blindly take sides with the authorities because they are the authorities.

I admit it was a mistake on my part to not investigate this story as I have done with other stories.

Glad you caught it and got the chance to rub in my face right after I caught you making a mistake. Now we're even right?

    I wish y'all were so keen to investigate this . . . http://www.baptistboard.com/showthread.php?t=97472

All I can say is I do my best to be honest and find the truth in a world of lies and political bias and corruption. Don't mean to be short with you but after so many years of being called this and that and being associated with every evil creature on the planet and beyond because I dare to question the authorities and don't automatically fall in line with the latest government/media fear mongering campaigns and false narratives I get a little testy.

    I apologize.

I understand Robbins presented authorities with a valid registration for an automobile... dated after the date of the arrest, of course.;)
