Inequality and the American Child

Those above the line to be considered poor. Because of this, children just over that line or whose families are over but have financial struggles because a child has a chronic illness have less opportunities than those considered to be poor. For example, poor children can take advanced placement tests for free, which provide more chances at college acceptance and allow kids to take less college classes upon entering, which reduces costs.
The other children are expected to pay full price.
The access to free nutrition, health care, early learning opportunities, and other education enrichment programs by the children considered poor exceed the access and opportunities afforded to a number of children living above the poverty line.
Which children are the true victims of inequality?

 

I don't get it....

Why should "we" be ashamed of what "they" are doing? If WE are believers, and THEY are the world?

And where is there any kind of scriptural support for the putrid notion that "we" are supposed to be concerned with social "fairness" in the world?

We are but blades of grass, withering away. This idea of trying to make this life the most important aspect of our existence....

It's downright disappointing, to say the least

 

James - how are you defining we and they? Surely there are believers among those who consider, work with, and help with issues concerning social justice.

 

The OP specifically stated governmental policies. Government. Whether there be believers in government, no one could know for sure. The government, as a whole, is of this world.

We should be ashamed? We who ?? Baptists? Christians?

Why in the world do Christians need to be ashamed of what a government does?
