Bill O'Reilly Lied, says Fox News

Bill O'Reilly lied, says Fox News: Why that won't hurt him at Fox

Fox News admits that Bill O'Reilly didn't actually see 'guys gun down nuns in El Salvador' or witness any bombings in Northern Ireland. Why Fox News is unlikely to suspend Bill O'Reilly for his exaggerations.

"That's really what separates me from most of these other bloviators," Fox News host Bill O'Reilly recently said in the midst of a scandal about whether he's exaggerated the dangers of his past combat reporting, "I bloviate, but I bloviate about stuff I’ve seen. They bloviate about stuff that they haven’t.”

It turns out O'Reilly is no different from the other bloviators.

In a statement quietly made to the Washington Post Friday, Fox News admitted that O'Reilly exaggerated about at least one of his reporting experiences, about seeing Irish terrorists bomb fellow citizens in Belfast. In a separate statement, O'Reilly adjusted his recounting of another reporting episode that was called into question, about seeing nuns murdered in El Salvador.

Good thing he's not a NEWS anchor. Plus he makes them too much money to really do anything.

Really brings home their motto: "We report, you decide."

That's the thing with calling yourself a news channel. All of these news channels have become inundated with these commentating shows. And I think the majority of their listeners just assume that they are reporting NEWS as is.

As such, people start repeating what these commentators have said as though it's the actual truthful news.

So you are saying the conservatives have started to pick up the bad habits of liberals?

Don't believe they picked up the bad habit, as long as there has been liberals and conservatives the lies have flowed.

Now, will he apologize? Will he be forced out of his job? Will this be given as much coverage as for the fellow a few weeks ago.

The two lies are very similar.

Nope. I'm saying it's business as usual for both sides.

But you kinda make my point about people believing that news channels are reporting actual truthful news just because they say they are a news channel. Conservatives and liberals have always lied and they will continue to lie if it makes them more money.

I was accused of looking at pornography when I said I had perused the Charlie Hedbo cartoons. But The FOX News women are blatantly throwing skin in your face, sitting sideways,

It's on purpose.

It's sad when there really are no real news sites out there. NewMax and WND love to twist the facts too.

Okay...that was pretty funny.

(And I say this as someone who tunes in to Fox news from time to time)

Seriously, O'reilly is an exper historian in his own mind, and Hannity has become much more annoying over the years with his continuous harping on certain things (Okay, we get it--Obama used to attend church with Jeremiah Wright and was good buddies with Bill Ayers...)

I used to love listening to him because he was so informative and seemed to care about the truth. Now he's become a very partisan person and only seems concerned about the Republican Party and money. It's annoying to listen to so I stopped listening to him as much.
