The Colombian army is reporting that FARC (Fuerzas Armadas Revolucionarios de Colombia), in English the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia, a communist insurgency in Colombia since 1964, has developed a bomb that resembles a cobweb.

Pictures of this from Twitter were posted on Fausta's Blog, one of the most popular blogs on the internet:

Looks like a triangle wrapped in leaves with a fish-line for a trip.

The pictures aren't too good, are they?

FARC is well-financed and has a natural sanctuary in the Colombian jungles. They also flee into Ecuador and Venezuela to friendly governments when pressed, as you know.

I am not sure how they are financed and supplied but they are self-proclaimed communists so there are the usual suspects of Russia and China and Cuba. As you know, Colombia recently intercepted a ship of munitions connected to North Korea.

Most of the history of the nation of Colombia is a history of war so Colombia must be the most war-weary nation on earth. Colombian President Santos tried to settle with FARC in meetings in Cuba but it was unsuccessful and the Colombian army seems to be in retreat once again.
