    You've said you grew up around firearms. What unnecessary danger have you faced because of that?

    Have you been shot either on purpose or by accident? Did you have a near miss?

    The same that everyone faced in those days.

    1. Have I ever been shot, hit, accidentally ... No
    2. Have I been accidentally shot at, near miss ... Yes
    3. Have I known anyone accidentally shot ... Yes
    4. Have I ever known anyone killed accidentally ... Yes
    5. Have I ever seen someone almost killed ... Yes, but thank God the person saw the little girl walk in front of his rifle and jerked it skyward before firing.

    All these happened with people who were very knowledgeable with firearms.

    May I suggest that NONE of the people doing these shootings were "very knowledgeable with firearms?"
    The shooter was not "very knowledgeable with firearms" because he/she violated Rule #3 of the 5 rules of gun safety, "Identify your target, what is behind your target, what is in front of your target, and what is on either side of your target." Had the shooter been "very knowledgeable with firearms" the near miss would not have happened.
    Again, the shooter violated several of the rules of gun safety.

    "Treat Every Gun As Loaded."
    "Handle With Care."
    "Identify Your Target And What Is Behind, Beside, And In Front Of Your Target."
    "Never Point a Gun At Anything/Anyone You Are Not Willing To Destroy/Kill."
    "Keep Your Finger Off The Trigger Until You Have Acquired Your Target And Are Ready To Shoot."
    All Of The Above Rule Violations.
    All Of The Above Rule Violations with the possible exception of "I." The shooter obviously identified something in front of his/her target and aborted the shoot.
    No, they weren't, as I have just demonstrated.

    And before you appoint yourself an expert on firearm safety allow me to post my firearm CV:

    NRA Certified Pistol Instructor. (40 Years)

    NRA Certified Range Safety Officer. (35 Years)

    State of California Department of Justice Certified Firearms Safety Instructor. (25 Years)

    Certified Close Protection Agent (having worked with SPOs (Security and Protection Officers) from the USSS, NCIS, OSI, CIA, NSA). (15 Years)

    Certified Police Range Firearms Instructor and Firing Line Coach teaching new Officers proper safe handing and shooting of firearms. (10 Years)

    Your turn. What qualifies you as an expert in firearm safety?

    You have my deepest sympathy. You are forced to endure a violent crime rate 5 times higher than in the US because of the denial of British Subject's God given right to defend themselves and their loved ones from those who commit such acts of violence.

    King George III's attempt to confiscate the Colonist's firearms was one of the reasons we kicked the Britts out in 1776-1781. :)

    According to a subsequent official report his relatives disposed of his remains.
