Fox News Poll: Majority would reject Iran nuke deal

The Iran nuclear agreement goes to Congress in September. If it were up to American voters, they would reject it -- with a large majority saying Iran wouldn’t abide by the agreement anyway.

The White House wants Congressional approval for the agreement that would ease U.S. economic sanctions for 10 years in return for Iran stopping its nuclear program during that time.

The latest Fox News national poll asks voters to imagine being a lawmaker and casting a vote on the deal: 31 percent would approve it, while nearly twice as many, 58 percent, would reject it.

In an August 5 speech, President Obama said if lawmakers vote down the deal, the agreement will fall apart and war will come “soon.”

Even so, only half of Democrats would approve the deal (50 percent). More than a third would vote it down (35 percent).

Most Republicans (83 percent) and a majority of independents (60 percent) would reject it.

The GOP already sold us out on this issue. If Congress passes their disapproval, Obama/Kerry will veto. Congress cannot override the veto of Islamic warlord Obama and so with one-third of Congress approving, Iran gets the atomic bomb.

The first target might not be Jerusalem--it might be Medina.

At any rate, Iran/Russia have probably agreed not to start an atomic war until Obama leaves the White House.

Kerry will get the Nobel Peace Prize for paving the way for Iran to use the atomic bomb in a couple of years.

You have to assume that Iran already has an atomic bomb.

No the GOP did not sell us out, Beohner and McConnel did. They do not encompass the entire GOP.

You can bet the first target will be Israel.

Good point--it is the GOP leadership that sold us out. McConnell did not deny that he is a liar--he just sent Hatch out and said that it was wrong to call a Senator a liar on the Senate floor. It apparently is not wrong to lie on the Senate floor.

Israel has a formidable military and Iran might want to practice first on the Arabs is my thinking but no one else is thinking along those lines.

At any rate the deal goes through because the Democrats have enough votes even with the few Jewish defectors to muster a third of the Senate. In this case the minority rules and the majority loses.

Can't imagine why Kerry is not going to Tehran to raise the flag there--I am sure that he would feel just as much at home in Tehran as he did in communist Cuba.

Some are now saying that the US Senate will not even vote on this deal. The reason that the Senate will not vote is that it takes sixty votes to call for closure and have a vote and that there are not sixty votes.

In other words, this Kerry-Obama deal will become effective without Congressional action because the GOP leadership conceded to Kerry that they would have to have two thirds of the Congress oppose the deal or it would become effective. Hence, the Senate support of the deal is about 45 % and so the deal does not even have to be voted on in the Senate, thus making it effective.

I think that Iran will drop the atomic bomb the moment Obama leaves the White House. I assume that Iran already has the atomic bomb.
