"Its influence is more of an immediate threat to the lives of our citizens than foreign terrorists."

Just two days after the horrific mass-shooting at Umpqua Community College in Oregon, the New York Daily News ran a column urging the U.S. State Department to officially characterize the National Rifle Association as a “nearly-state sponsored terrorist group” and arguing that "its influence is more of an immediate threat to the lives of our citizens than foreign terrorists."

    Columnist Linda Stasi writes:

Was the shooter a member of the NRA? Nah, don't think so, although these same people will swear up and down that there's "no proof" that the Muslim Brotherhood and CAIR terrorist groups are terrorist groups. Linda Stasi, another northeastern gun grabber but her name does fit the jackboot.

They all seem to love dancing in the blood of the victims to push their agenda. Shows how much empathy they really have for others.

    None.

Wow. As a member of both the NRA and Oathkeepers, I've got to be on somebody's watch list by now.

It's not about empathy. It's about them using tragedies to advance their political agenda.

If you profess to be a Christian you probably are.

If you profess to be a Christian conservative and pro 2nd amendment and anti abortion and believe in the US constitution you definitely are.

WaPo Editor Says Repeat After Me: 'AGun-Free Society'

"Doesn't it sound logical? Doesn't it sound safe?"

Based on his latest column, it seems like Washington Post editor Fred Hiatt could get behind a rewrite of John Lennon's Imagine and release an updated version to reflect today's call for gun control.

    [Imagine] Prohibition… [Imagine] Mass buyback… [Imagine] A gun-free society...

He liked that last line so much, he asked his readers to repeat it with him: "Let's say that once again: A gun-free society." Bliss, he thinks.

Those words -- prohibition, mass buyback, gun-free society -- are what Hiatt says the NRA has rendered "unmentionable." And so he believes its time American citizens take them back and leave being armed to the professionals:

Doesn’t it sound logical? Doesn’t it sound safe? Wouldn’t it make sense to learn from other developed nations, which believe that only the military and law enforcers, when necessary, should be armed — and which as a result lose far, far fewer innocent people than die every year in the United States?

And Hiatt isn't even the least bit concerned that his suggestion could be used by the NRA to prove what it has always defined as a slippery slope with government regulation: "You see? Background checks today, confiscation tomorrow."

    Bring it on, says Hiatt:

NY Gov. Cuomo Wants Dems to Shut Down Govt. Over 2nd Amendment

All other political issues are “blather,” Cuomo said.

Democrat Gov. Andrew Cuomo is calling for a government shut down in response to the shooting in Roseburg, Oregon.

“I’d love to see the Democrats stand up and say we’re going to shut down the government or threaten to shut down the government if we don’t get real gun control legislation,” Cuomo told NY1.

Cuomo, who had mulled the idea of running for president and eventually threw his support behind Hillary Clinton, said so-called gun control should be a top election season issue.

“I would like to see Hillary and the vice president and whoever else is in the race on both sides talk about this issue of guns and let’s have that as one of the top priorities,” he said. “Rather than the political blather that is now going on and let’s put some real issues on the agenda and let’s put at the top: What are you going to do about guns?”

The inability of government to restrict the Second Amendment “is such a blatant failure of our political system and frankly such a blatant failure of the elected officials in this country,” Cuomo said.

Cuomo isn't in any danger of being mistaken for a constitutionalist by the NYPD.
