House Ignores Obama’s Veto Threat, Passes Bill to Strengthen Screening Against Syrian and Iraqi Refu

Again, nothing more than political posturing against the President. The have no teeth in this matter.

 

Why would Obama be against strengthening the vetting process?

 

Because he knows just as everyone else that this has NOTHING to do with strengthening the vetting process. This is about the GOP and a handful of folks running for President demonizing yet another group in order to try to curry political favor.

 

That's really a weak reply. You didn't answer the question.

Democrats changed their votes to vote for the legislation after hearing from the Obama administration what the current vetting process is. Basically it's non existent.

So I ask you again, why would Obama be against improving the vetting process...when so many of his party members agree it should be improved.

 

What I know is that there is not an answer that could be given to you about this President that would satisfy you. It's political grandstanding and nothing more just as your questioning is because just as I said to another, the majority in this country has to find a way to justify their demonizing of any and everyone who doesn't look like the majority. THAT's what is weak and pretty sad.

And the process is the same process and then some that's been used to place the previous 750,000 refugees in the United States. Get over it.

 

He knows that it's impossible to actually strengthen the vetting process for these tourists, because there is no sure way to vet them accurately. The "refugees" are using fake passports and/or lack ID. Obama wants ten thousand more of them here by the end of them year and there's no time.

The House probably got rattled by all these polls showing the vast majority of Americans against this. ISIS is all over the people really leaving Syria, these people are tourists like the Germans were in an art deco Parisian cafe circa 1940.
