Many fought. Some bought their way out of the draft, and many (an estimated 10 percent) deserted. Many (like Mark Twain) went out west beyond the reach of the war.

How many went half way around the world only to become a drain on the host economy with the religious intent to rule the word through a caliphate?

    None.

Do you really want to equate the two situations? Really? Do you blame all the Europeans who fled their home countries in the 19th century to escape their plight? What about the Jews during and after World War II? Guess they should have manned up and stayed put too.

Besides, where is the proof that the refugees have "the religious intent to rule the world through a caliphate"? If they want to join the caliphate, they can stay where they are.

All Muslims want the world ruled by a Caliphate. It is the very core of their religion. And yes I do want to equate the two.

That's all these people are to you. A drain on the "host" economy. Not flesh and blood human beings. I can actually picture you standing in front of some of these people saying that. They'll wonder who you are and then learn you are a Pastor. You make it sound like they are all criminals or something. That speaks volumes. Besides, it's easy to make this comparison sitting in a nice air conditioned room in a stable country when you aren't in any real danger. It's easy to be a keyboard warrior.

You actually sound like you are the one being inconvenienced, not the people fleeing a war torn country in the Middle East.

You can equate the two all you want but ask yourself this. Is fighting to save America worth the same amount of effort to retain Syria? I suspect the answer is no. Assad isn't Lincoln.
