The GOP didn't vote FOR anything. They voted to repeal ObamaCare. They plan on introducing new legislation. Why don't we wait and see what the replacement bill that addresses these problems will accomplish?

It's kinda silly to, for the umpteenth time, try to repeal the Affordable Care Act when they HAVE NOT put forth their alternative.

What would happen to all the folks using it if they repealed it and STILL hadn't presented an alternative?

It just makes no sense that the GOP keeps trying to turn back the clock and take health insurance from millions of people who have it now who didn't have it before without putting forth their replacement.

They need to be voted out of office for doing nothing again and again.

It really is a shame that they waste their time on stuff like this. There are more important things they could be doing, the first of which is getting the impeachment process rolling for obama. While they are at it, they could get things moving with charges against clinton.

They have proposed alternatives, albeit in a patchwork kind of a way.

I doubt they will propose anything new. They have had years to do so and everything they suggested was loaded with poison pills that they knew would never become law.

They also promised jobs bills to create jobs, but have yet to pass a bill that created any new jobs.

“There are many things to do, but most urgent is to repeal and replace ObamaCare,” Ryan said. “We think this problem is so urgent that, next year, we are going to unveil a plan to replace every word of ObamaCare.”

Ryan’s remarks were part of a sweeping speech he delivered in the Library of Congress’s ornate Great Hall that touched on everything from tax reform and trade to poverty and the fight against Islamic State terrorists.

I would not hold my breath on that and I certainly do not expect him to propose anything that has any chance of becoming law. Past history is the best indicator of this.

I know you are smarter than you are showing here. Assuming they can control the House and the Senate AND win the Presidency after the 2016 elections, anything they propose would pass (just as the Dems got ObamaCare to pass with no GOP support.). To that end Ryan and the GOP have a goal to get an ObamaCare repeal bill on the President's desk, thus forcing him to veto it. Once it's in the public's knowledge that the GOP tried to get rid of ObamaCare but Obama vetoed it, the call to vote for the Republican presidential candidate will go out even stronger.

This doesn't make much sense. They've been trying to repeal the ACA since it become law. Why would this time be any different?

Because this time the bill will have passed both chambers and actually gotten to Obama's desk where he would have to veto it.

Which happened yesterday. And I bet no one on BB had heard about it. Until now.

So they've got control of both houses of Congress and this hasn't happened before now? THAT should be the news. Kinda says they probably haven't had a plan and it really wasn't a priority in the past with all the "repeal Obamacare" bills they've pushed.

Seems like election year posturing. It deserves to be vetoed and the Dems aren't gonna be affected at all by it.
