A shocking new survey released Friday by Mercury Analytics finds nearly 20% of the likely Democratic voters polled would cross over in the general election and vote for Republican front-runner Donald Trump.

When crossover voters were asked how sure they were, 63% of the Democrats who said they would crossover were “100% sure.”

Mercury Analytics dial-tested Trump’s first campaign ad, which touches on a variety of issues including ISIS, radical Islamic terrorism and illegal immigration. The firm found 25% of Democrats “agree completely” that the ad raised some good points; while 44% of Democrats agree “completely” or “somewhat.”

And we saw the first poll post on RCP (a Fox poll) that had the Donald beating Hillary. By 3 points.

Shocking poll comes with one giant caveat:

"If Trump is the nominee and pivots to the center in the general election as a problem-solving, independent minded, successful ‘get it done’ businessman – is that Democrats will no longer be able to count on his personality and outrageous soundbites to disqualify him in the voters’ minds.”

Yeah, there is a deep dissatisfaction within that party with Hillary and I don't think they'll let Red Bernie be the nominee so if things continue to deteriorate, Biden and Liz the fake Indian are warming up in the bullpen already.

Crossover voters are always doing their thing. It never really affects the overall outcome of a primary race.

True. I was simply quoting the poll's own analysis.

If he does "pivot towards the center" I presume he will drop some of his demands from his ridiculous positions (that are basically opening negotiating stances) to make himself appear more reasonable. Things like dropping the requirement that Mexico pay for the wall, disallowing all Muslims entry into the country, etc.

Uh huh. Wonder when he will come out openly as pro choice? It will cost him some of the support he has now, I believe.

    Why is that ridiculous?

He only meant a temporary ban on this not permanent. Why is this ridiculous?

Suppose you have a neighbor with a dog that comes into your yard and digs up your flower beds, poops and pees in your yard, and digs holes in the lawn. Now you go over to your neighbor and say, "Your dog keeps on coming into my yard. You're going to pay to build a fence around my property so your dog can't get in here."

    Sound reasonable?

It assumes all Muslims are terrorists.

Your comparison? No of course not

Sigh good grief no it doesn't. It says we do not know who is and who is not and until we can get that under control we need to put an end to that migration.

    RE:Mexico paying for the wall:

This is an easy one - in 2014 the US gave $971,320,000 to Mexico in foreign aid.

    http://data.worldbank.org/indicator/DT.ODA.ALLD.CD

Stop the foreign aid and use it to pay for the wall (Emperor Trump will also have a pen and a phone).

Billions more than that if you count the welfare money sent back across the border by illegal aliens.

    Good point!

How about the jobs stolen from our own unemployed by illegal aliens?
How about health care taken from our veterans by illegal aliens?
    And on and on...

Wonder if anyone in the administration has ever read this passage?

1 Timothy 5:8 But if any provide not for his own, and specially for those of his own house, he hath denied the faith, and is worse than an infidel.

I doubt anyone in this administration has read the Bible at all except to get some out of context quotes to throw at Christians.

And they love to give us a tongue lashing for our "religion and guns"...

"They get bitter, they cling to guns or religion or antipathy to people who aren't like them or anti-immigrant sentiment or anti-trade sentiment as a way to explain their frustrations."

When was the last time one of our religious leaders publicly blasphemed God and America?

Repeat:Timothy 5:8 But if any provide not for his own, and specially for those of his own house, he hath denied the faith, and is worse than an infidel.
