    Inevitable.

I'm not even a fan of using the word militia to describe that group. Title 10 and Title 32 of the US Code give my preferred definition.

    I'm with you.

The whole altercation with the other group was ridiculous too. I love the pictures. Everybody is dressed to the 9's in super cool tactical gear. I guess they love the look and the image but what is obviously lacking are the standards and code of conduct. Leadership is lacking.

Hard to get anything done when everyone's a Colonel-General-Admiral.

If you leave now you can still make it out there in time to show them how it's done. ;)

That only covers the lies of one side.

There's a big list of lies the federal government has been telling for a whole lot longer.

The real issue lies with the federal government's lies and it's actions based on those lies.

I wish. It's more plausible that they just didn't think past the ends of their nose.

True military tacticians have already thought through the final battle, and what happens after that. These guys....

But, as someone already mentioned, don't lose sight of the point: what actions has the government taken that caused some people to feel this is something they needed to do?

I don't know what's got your back up. But, this looks like a form of stolen valor. Though, stolen valor is usually when someone wears ribbons and medals they were not awarded.

My mistake I thought stolen valor was sending kids off to die in lie began wars. Or is that stolen lives?

These guys picked the wrong time and the wrong battlefield for the wrong reasons. No matter what people might think about them it doesn't change the question they've raised.

Does the federal government have the constitutional authority to control western land?

It doesn't matter if these guys lie, cheat at cards and spit tobacco juice on each other while they oil their Colt .45's.

    Stolen lives.

Valor is standing up for a cause, even if it's not yours; and trying to do the right and honorable thing, even if it's just watching out for the person next to you.

Stolen valor is trying to be recognized as such, and presenting yourself as honorable, while knowing that you didn't and you aren't.

Like our politicians who wrap themselves in the flag and lie to start wars and lie to keep them going then . . .

What these guys are doing is nothing compared to what the federal government has done to this country and the world with it's lies. And yet we choose to focus our attention on a few "yokels from over yonder" instead?

Not "like" at all. Note that I said "honorable"; there's nothing honorable about what you described.

    Agreed.

I get it Squire we're supposed to focus our attention on people and personalities rather than the issue.

Does the federal government have the constitutional authority to control western lands?

I get the whole focus on people and personalities thing. That's what the media and the government would have us do. I get it, I just don't buy it.

Poncho, stolen valor is a real issue (among others) for the veterans community. What you are doing is comparing apples with oranges. These are two different issues.

Squire, I know what you are saying. Here's what I am saying, the federal government is stealing the valor of veterans from the signing of the constitution to the present by ignoring the law those veterans fought to protect and defend.

Here's what the federal government is saying, "thank you for your service to this great country and BTW we're ignoring the law you fought to protect and defend now and that makes you the number one enemy of the state."

What you're talking about is small potatoes compared to that. Veterans should be more concerned with a government stealing their valor by acting outside the law than some yahoo who likes to dress up like a soldier and make up tall tails.

The feds and the corporate media would have us focus on a few yahoos playing soldier rather than the bigger issue here. We (speaking as a veteran) should be more worried about the bigger issue.

These yahoos will disappear from sight soon enough and they'll have no control over anyone's life but their own. The federal government on the other hand is here to stay and has almost total control over everyone's life whether it has the authority for it or not.
