    Title says it all.

Trump, the only GOP candidate still running for president, won South Dakota by garnering only 2/3's of the vote.

    Trump 67.1%
    Cruz 17.0%
    Kasich 15.9%

Considering that dead people have won general elections before, it's not that outstanding.

means nothing, South Dakota will almost certainly go for Trump in the fall. Bernie was drawing dead yesterday, too, and did quite well.

Yes, interesting results. This is the percentage that Trump won by state - running unopposed in a Republican primary.

    NJ – 80%

    CA – 75%

    MT – 73%

    NM – 70%

    SD – 67%

    Uh oh:

June 3, 1980, Reagan got LESS than two thirds (64%!) in the New Mexico primary and just 80% in his HOME STATE California!

Unlike Trump, Reagan still had opposition from John Anderson in the Republican primaries, while Bush had just pulled out of the race a week beforehand.

Truth: Anderson quit the GOP race APRIL 24, 1980.

Is running against a suspended campaign or two the same as running unopposed?

FACT: Anderson was listed on the GOP primary ballot in California in 1980, and was still running for President, albeit on the Independent Party ticket.

I wouldn't. The names are all on the ballot. Too easy to fill in a block.

Now if Trump was the only name on the ballot, and a 1/3 of the voters wrote someone in, you'd have a story.
