A 14 year old in Alabama was raped and chose life. An advocate from Choices4Life flew from Texas to help support her, and I linked the story of what happened. People should not be afraid to choose life. Raped girls and women should not fear to choose life because their kids will be taken and as is believed to have happened in this case, given to the family of the rapist. That last part is unconfirmed. CPS won't say where the baby is. This is where mom believes they took the baby. In any case, please read, make phone calls, and if you know of any legal help or you're a lawyer yourself, please contact the family or contact me and I'll work it out to get you in touch.

Oh, they're beyond mad. They're mad that we're actually saying anything or making calls. They now went and took the mother into custody too, AND her brother. The brother is TWENTY YEARS OLD. Apparently, they can now take them up to 21 years old. I had thought it was 18. Their will be a protest in front of the courthouse tomorrow, as far as I know, and if it doesn't go well, another one later as soon as it can be organized, sounds like. Sorry if this sounds disjointed - it's happening now and things get muddled. Am doing 50 things at once...they're still trying to figure out where they're hiding the mother.

People are invited to rally outside the Shelby County Courthouse at 112 N Main St, Columbiana, AL, on Friday, June 17. The Shelter Hearing is scheduled for 1pm, and supporters are planning to be there by 12:30.

There may have been an error about the 20 year old, or it may have been a different relative. The brother taken with the young mom was the young mom's twin brother. The latest news story update said police had to threaten him with a taser to get him in the vehicle being used for this kidnapping of American children.

I read the article and it said the brother was the mother's twin, which would make him 14. I suspect something is in question concerning the grandparent's custodial duties in that the teenagers were also removed. Whatever it is it seemed to turn the hospital staff against them as well as the DHS. And it certainly wasn't handled well and there seems to be a lot of abuses of authority. The lack of stating the charges is outrageous. - if true, but I also suspect the mother has a good idea of the reason, this is why she didn't want to speak to the officer alone. There has got to be much more to this story...

Ben, the complete story is coming together. It really does seem like a gross abuse of power when all put together. There will be public information coming out soon, although rough interviews are already public. A gag order has been placed, which greatly restricts the family's ability to speak freely and gain help from those who may otherwise come together to support them rather than doubt their right to be together as a family. Please keep watching the story. Often, people just see the beginning and then once the gag goes in, they forget the family. There will be people actively working to ensure that does not happen. Remember, no family is perfect, but taking children from family is only appropriate in the most drastic of situations. The simple fact that constitutional rights were violated and no court order given for the removal of children from their families is enough to protest against. It wouldn't matter if this was an axe murderer's family. The law is the law, and the constitution is the constitution. It was violated. And it is often violated.

The baby is in critical condition, having been denied medical care. DHR (Alabama's version of child protective services) wanted the young mother to have an abortion. She did not. Now it seems they were willing to let the baby die.
Come on, Alabama and everyone! Don't let this happen. Gramma and Grampa have a great house where mom and baby were going to live. It was approved. Grampa is a retired police officer. To gag the family from speaking while the government lets their grandbaby and great grandbaby die? So wrong. Step up, people. Just because the baby is now born doesn't mean we quit caring and helping.
