The Bush White House email controversy surfaced in 2007 during the controversy involving the dismissal of eight U.S. attorneys. Congressional requests for administration documents while investigating the dismissals of the U.S. attorneys required the Bush administration to reveal that not all internal White House emails were available. Conducting governmental business in this manner is a possible violation of the Presidential Records Act of 1978, and the Hatch Act.[1] Over 5 million emails may have been lost.[2][3]Greg Palast claims to have come up with 500 of theKarl Rove emails, leading to damaging allegations.[4] In 2009, it was announced that as many as 22 million emails may have been lost.

Lots more emails "lost" by the bush administration. Why didn't the GOP conduct hearings on that scandal?

And why didn't the Democrats conduct hearings on that "scandal?"

I have to echo exscentric on this one. Your question defies logic. The democrats did not initiate the investigatigation on their own democratic secretary of state; why would you expect republicans to initiate the investigation back then? Where were the democrats back then?

So, CTB, you are admitting that Hillary Clinton broke the law?

I would not expect a GOP congress to begin investigations of a GOP president. That is the point. It is all pure politics. And politics has become nastier from the GOP in the last 8 years.

How would anyone know if they were classified since they were erased. Maybe all of them, maybe not. The point is all this is simply party politics.

Bush administration deleted 22million emails. Did anyone go to jail? No.
Colin Powell admitted he did the same as Clinton. Did Colin power go to jail or face hearings? No

    Remember the IRS email scandal?
Remember the Chris Christie email scandal?

My guess is that just about every Congressman/woman, who knows how to use email, has done the same and thought nothing about it. After all information leaks out of Congress all the time with and without the benefit of email.

The difference between Nixon and Clinton would be national security

Crabby, are you saying that Clinton is innocent of any charges?

I do not believe Clinton is innocent of all chargers.

I believe Nixon was guilty of greater crimes than Clinton.

    Some of Nixon's crimes:

    1. Obstruction of justice from the Oval Office.
    2. Used the IRS to go after his political enemies.
    3. Waged dirt trick campaigns against his opponents.
    4. Launched an illegal war in Cambodia.
    5. Illegal recordings of conversations in the Oval Office.
    6. He worked surreptitiously with the South Vietnamese government to obstruct peace talks between the US and North Vietnam. This certainly involved national security. This was treasonous.
    7. Watergate ... need we say more.
    8. Tactics used against war protesters.

General Petraeus got two-years of probation and was fined $100,000 and the judge said it was to reflect the “seriousness of the offense.”

So General Petraeus mishandled two, count em, two, classified documents and got two years of probation and a $100 thousand fine.

Hillary mishandled several times that many classified documents and gets a "get out of jail free" card from the FBI, after a very suspicious secret meeting between Hillary's husband and the boss of the Director of the FBI?

Either Hillary needs to be prosecuted just as General Petraeus was, who was initially charged with a felony, or the FBI/Department of Justice owes the General an apology and compensation for his prosecution, forced resignation, fine, and public humiliation.

There are NOT TWO SYSTEMS OF JUSTICE IN THIS COUNTRY! One for the Clintons and one for everybody else. We either have equal justice under the law or we have no justice at all!

We are not talking about Nixon. We are talking about Clinton. Why do you try to change the subject? Is it because you cannot support your position?

It's because he IS trying to justify two systems of justice. He's trying to say, "see, Nixon got away with it, so it's okay for Clinton to get away with it."

Just to show comparisons and to show that the GOP is simply playing party politics.

Both parties play party politics? Remember that! We learn something new every day, don't we?

So, you are claiming that Hillary did not break the law? Are you claiming the Director of the FBI perjured himself when he testified before Congress?

Do you honestly think "he did it too" is an affirmative defense?

Oh, but I did, but you keep flip flopping back and forth. So now are you saying it is okay for Clinton to break the law but it's not okay for Nixon to do so?

It is not ok for any to do so. But why come down so hard on Clinton when you want to simply excuse Bush and Powell. As I said, it is simply GOP politics selectively picking an issue at a time when they think it will help them.

Was it OK for the Bush White House to erase 22 million messages. Please don't try to say non were classified. If only 3% were classified that would be 660,000 classified messages deleted. The way government loves to classify I am sure the figure would be much greater. There are still pages from the 9/11 report that are classified.

If you every read any classified report it is best to keep a large mug of coffee at hand. Muckrakers never find much of interest. Historians, though bored, do find items that help clarify a point or two.

Seemingly a whole lot of people in the government are guilty. Nothing is done. Read on:

    From: http://dailysignal.com/2015/03/08/h...ory-using-personal-email-government-business/

High-level federal executives routinely use personal email for business, in likely violation of the Federal Records Act. That’s according to a recent survey of federal employees.

The survey was conducted by the research group Government Business Council just prior to revelations that Hillary Clinton allegedly exclusively used personal email and a private server at her Chappaqua, N.Y., residence for her government communications while serving as President Obama’s secretary of state.

Personal email is “always” or “often” used for government business in their agency, according to 16 percent of survey respondents. One-third, 33 percent, said personal email is used “sometimes” or more frequently.

So now you admit she broke the law?

Why do you make things up that are not true? I don't want to excuse anyone.

So, it is the GOP's fault that Clinton broke the law?
Of course not. And I have never said it was, but only if those messages can be shown to have been classified. Can you show evidence that they were?

Why not? Why are you against the enforcing of National Security laws?
