Fact-Checking Snopes: Website’s Political ‘Fact-Checker’ Is Just A Failed Liberal Blogger

Popular myth-busting website Snopes originally gained recognition for being the go-to site for disproving outlandish urban legends -such as the presence of UFOs in Haiti or the existence of human-animal hybrids in the Amazon jungle.

Recently, however, the site has tried to pose as a political fact-checker. But Snopes’ “fact-checking” looks more like playing defense for prominent Democrats like Hillary Clinton and it’s political “fact-checker” describes herself as a liberal and has called Republicans “regressive” and afraid of “female agency.”

Snopes’ main political fact-checker is a writer named Kim Lacapria. Before writing for Snopes, Lacapria wrote for Inquisitr, a blog that — oddly enough — is known for publishing fake quotes and even downright hoaxes as much as anything else.

While at Inquisitr, the future “fact-checker” consistently displayed clear partisanship.

Like Wikipedia, Snopes offers links to the original articles that support their findings. If you examine the links you can make your own determination as to the factual basis of the articles on Snopes.

If you don't like Snopes there is always TruthorFiction.com, Hoax-Slayers.com, HoaxBusters.org.

In my experience both the far right and the far left propagate false emails, tweets, and Facebook posts. However, the far right seems to do a lot more of it, therefore, sites like Snopes (and others) appear to be slanted against the right wing

Please name some political positions of the so called "far right".

Abolish the Federal Reserve
Require drug tests for welfare benefits
Loosen requirements for eminent domain
Must be property owner to vote
White nationalism/supremacy
Federal government cannot own land in former territories that are now states
Withdraw the US from the UN
Loosening privacy rights allowing NSA to surveill citizens

Can you provide a link to a "far right" website that shows support this these.

Also how is wanting to withdraw from the UN "far right" how is requiring drug tests for welfare recipients "Far right"?

No. I'm not going to waste any more time on this.

Um, simple exercise of looking up what percentage of people support a given idea. If it's a super minority of people it can be considered a "far" position.

Ok well you responded to this thread, made a claim, I am just asking you to provide substantiation. Any claims made against others with whom you disagree are diminished by unsubstantiated claims.

Not sure, if I agree fully with that definition.

If so then Noah and his 7 family members were "far right"

From you post (# 7) -Loosen requirements for eminent domain - I would consider that a liberal position.

In addition - in reference to you Far right points - I have started a poll
