Donald Trump spent more than a quarter-million dollars from his charitable foundation to settle lawsuits that involved the billionaire’s for-profit businesses, according to interviews and a review of legal documents.

Those cases, which together used $258,000 from Trump’s charity, were among four newly documented expenditures in which Trump may have violated laws against “self-dealing” — which prohibit nonprofit leaders from using charity money to benefit themselves or their businesses.

In one case, from 2007, Trump’s Mar-a-Lago Club faced $120,000 in unpaid fines from the town of Palm Beach, Fla., resulting from a dispute over the size of a flagpole.

In a settlement, Palm Beach agreed to waive those fines — if Trump’s club made a $100,000 donation to a specific charity for veterans. Instead, Trump sent a check from the Donald J. Trump Foundation, a charity funded almost entirely by other people’s money, according to tax records.

Even if true, which I doubt, probably just desperate attempts to even out the charges against Hillary, 2 wrongs wouldn't make this a right for Hillary. ...and Hillary's "charitable foundation" goes way beyond any standards of making a reasonable comparison between the two events.

I hear Jeff Bezos has an anti trust problem if Trump becomes president. No worries if Clinton becomes POTUS though.

Let's see. Trump’s foundation made a $100,000 donation to a charity for veterans and CTB wants that to be illegal?

    Hmmm....

Wonder why the Clinton Foundation isn't being investigated. The DOJ just isn't interested. Neither is the New York AG. Sounds a lot like someone is playing political favorites.;)

Jeff Bezos assigns 20 reporters to look into "every phase of Trump's life", and alleges a misuse of funds in 2007. If true, the IRS might fine him.

Jeffrey is going to have to assign more reporters if this is the best he can do.

The DOJ - too busy trying to find Hillary's laptop and multi-thousands of her emails.

The State Department misplaced and lost some $6 billion due to the improper filing of contracts during the past six years, mainly during the tenure of former Secretary of State Hilary Clinton, according to a newly released Inspector General report.

The $6 billion in unaccounted funds poses a “significant financial risk and demonstrates a lack of internal control over the Department’s contract actions,” according to the report.
