I voted today and was amazed at the number of people voting. I had to circle the parking area and finally found a parking place that had just been vacated. There was a steady stream of people going in to vote and people leaving. There was about 30 voting booths and all were filled with voters while I was there. On my way out I was told that 4500 people voted yesterday and that it appeared that many or more would vote today.

Have you voted?

How was the turnout?

I went by yesterday and the line was out the door, and twisting three times through the parking lot.

Decided that I'll choose another day.

I voted last week. The turn out was heavy. I live in a part of Texas that is 71% registered Democrat. The exit polls showed that a huge number of Democrats were voting for Trump!

I think the turn around may have been due to the fact that 91% of the population here is Hispanic, and thus mostly Catholic. Hillary is just too pro-abortion for the practicing Catholics to stomach. They can endure a man who is pro-abortion, but they can't understand how a woman, and mother, could favor killing her unborn children. The Hispanic community down here is very pro-family.

I hear Hillary has rigged an extra day for her supporters so they won't have to deal with the flood of Trump supporters. Just go Wednesday, Nov 9th, you'll be fine...

Early voting not permitted in NY
And i do not like Early voting -

However, I understand, in some states/commonwealths, you can actually go in and change your vote.

I haven't yet. My neighbor said she went to go vote and there was just too many people so she gave up and went home.

I hate the idea of early voting so I refuse to vote before election day. I live in a fairly small town so I'm not to worried about lines.

Well, you got 6 days then to get over that #NeverTrump nonsense and actually make your vote count for something. Good luck! ;)

What's wrong with early voting? (Legit question, I'm curious.)
I'm a conservative and the Constitution says that the election is to be held on the 1st Tuesday after the first Monday in November so that's when I think we should vote. Also I think early voting makes fraud easier to commit.

Kentucky also has no early voting. The only way is to sign a statement explaining why you will not be in the area November 8th.

If it were not for early voting an untold number of disabled people, like me, would be prevented from voting.

I cannot stand in line, nor can I take the chance of being jostled while in a crowd. Something as simple as being knocked down, which is very easy to do to me, could prove fatal.

But it is nice to see the fine "Christian" people who want to deny me my right to vote.:rolleyes:

Not Necessarily - that is what absentee voting is for in part...

No one has said that they want to get rid of early voting, only that they dislike or hate it. But as a conservative I believe that if I don't like something, that means I don't do it, it doesn't mean I try to change the rules so that no one else can do what I dislike. I have a problem with early voting therefore I don't early vote. That has no effect on you whatsoever.

So I just checked my copy of the Constitution and realized that it does not set the day for elections only that Congress must meet on the first Monday of November. So my first point is in error. My second reason still stands as I do believe it is an avenue for fraud therefore I choose to vote on election day, not before.

Yes I know it became law in the 1800s I had said it was in the Constitution so I was owning up to my mistake.
