Like the ones that put thousands of coal miners out of work, while Obama and Hillary sneered that it had to happen and they didn't mind helping it along. I wonder if it had anything to do with the fact that most coal miners are white?

Well Carpo, interesting you should ask. I have lots of relatives in Southern WV and a number of them are in the coal industry. Interestingly they tell me that the regulations should be kept in place and that regardless of what is done the jobs will not be coming back. Why?

1. The demand for coal is not increasing.
2. Technology has made it possible to mine as much coal as we need with fewer people. If the regulations are killed jobs will not come back.

3. It is terrible what the coal industry has done to the mountains in WV. Have you been there to see how they have been raped? Have you seen the destruction of steams and small rivers with pollutants?

From: http://oilprice.com/Energy/Coal/The-Decline-Of-The-Coal-Industry-Is-Long-Term-And-Irreversible.html

Demand for thermal coal is declining, a trend that appears to be “irreversible.”

That is the conclusion from Goldman Sachs, which published a new report on the global coal and gas trade on February 15, and reported on by SNL. For coal producers, this is the latest in a long line of grim warnings, all of which point to a future of shuttered power plants, mine closures, and bankruptcies.

Last fall, Goldman Sachs made headlines when it predicted that “peak coal” was drawing near. “The industry does not require new investment given the ability of existing assets to satisfy flat demand, so prices will remain under pressure as the deflationary cycle continues,” the investment bank wrote in September 2015.

Also, interestingly, just this morning I was talking with a visitor here. He said he worked as a lawyer for many years for a company that owned 500,000 acres of forest in WV. His comment was, "We need the regulations in place."

You are the most epic troll ever! Congrats!!! The reason coal usage is down is the insane regulations that are designed as political measure. We uses a lot of coal for power. Coal usage is up internationally and we export a lot of it.

Yet in the USA Obamas war on coal has hurt the industry badly.

Are you to have us believe that your family members are willing to give up jobs for more regulations? Is this why Trump won coal states by record numbers?

And Republicans rejoiced all the way to the the ballot box. Thanks for finishing the job of turning the state completely red.
