Every cent? We're talking about a third of the national debt. Bush raised the Pentagon budget by $50B after 9/11. I heard a Pentagon insider say he probably could have found that in loose change at the Pentagon.
Whatever amount, it is made up of single cents.

Could your NASA accountant track every cent from his office?

Would you stay awake at night if you lost $1? How about $100,000? We're talking about apples and oranges

I'm just getting to be too nasty aren't I? I apologize. Generally that's not the way I want to deal with p[eople.[/QUOTE]
No, you are OK, this is a debate forum.
BTW Sometimes going back and reading one of my old posts I am baffled as to what I was trying to say.

No we aren't. We know where the money went, to which service or program. Whether for payroll, operating costs, procurement...

What is your definition of lost? Is the 391 billion in F35 costs lost?

And again, can ypur NASA accountant track every cent from his office? Still waiting...

Lost is the Pentagon cannot account of where that money went. I'm NOT talking about programs like the F-35 which are identified in the budget. I'm talking about taxpayer money which we have NO IDEA of where it went. Comprende?

Where did the money go? Once again let me cite Defense Sec. Rumsfeld's statement on 9/10/17 that we can't track $2.3T. That was then. This is now and the number is much higher now, over $8.5T. What was that spent on? To say it was lost in the pentagon accounting systems is not an answer. Rumsfeld said it would take years to figure out the discrepancy. Why not?

So you hold the military to a higher standard than your NASA accountant.

Over what years was this 6.5 trillion lost?
