Nice of the admiral to take the blame. However, it still shows the ignorance of Trump and his administration. Korea is not in the Western Pacific. Korea is in the Sea of Japan. Trump and his advisers should know this.

Korea is not exactly "in" the Sea of Japan, but bordering it. It's a minor point I know, but you are pointing out ignorance.... Interestingly enough, "Sea of Japan" is the Japanese name for it, but North and South Korea and Russia all have other names for it.

Having some idea of how Koreans feel toward the Japanese I can understand their having their own name for this body of water. I understand there is an argument between the various nations on what its official name should be.

No love lost between the older generations of the two countries. Interestingly enough, though, the younger generations love each other's pop culture: music, TV shows, movies, etc. Korean soap operas are extremely popular in Japan right now.
