With the Democrats losing the election in 2016, the party hoped it would be able to gain ground in congressional elections.

However, it hasn't gone well so far. Most recently, Jon Ossoff lost to Republican Karen Handel in Georgia's 6th District special election. It seems that some Democrats are now engaging in some introspection.

During a segment of Fox News Channel's “Media Buzz with Howard Kurtz,” the host brought up points made by Democratic Party leaders who are saying that they're spending too much time focusing on bashing Trump and not enough time conveying a concise message.

Kurtz brought up an interview in which Ohio Congressman Tim Ryan (D) told the New York Times that the Democratic Party was “toxic,” adding:

“Our brand is worse than Trump. We can’t just run against Trump.”

Another Democrat to speak out against his own party was Sen. Chris Murphy (D-CT), who said on “Morning Joe” recently:

“The fact that we have spent so much time talking about Russia has been a distraction from what should be the clear contrast between Democrats and the Trump agenda, which is on economics.”

No one likes to lose, (except maybe people on a diet); However the more explicit point is, no one likes to lose to a person who has cheated to win.

Obama cheated to win, and a great number of American citizens, who are aligned as Republican Party supporters criticized the Democratic Party for seating Obama under circumstances of fraud.

The intent was for the Democrats to attempt to find something that might also connect Trump to fraud, in hopes the Republican Party supporters would turn against Trump.

Nothing has revealed that Trump directed Russians to come up with a scheme to alter the votes, or that Trump knew of such schemes to alter the votes or that such a scheme was officially effected.

It has been reported that Putin himself was seen there (by unidentified domestics) with his laptop possibly channeling votes to the Republican side of the tally ledger of the special elections.

This has not yet been verified.

Well, it is an obvious observation that the TRUTH is often a menace and interference when "WANTS" are a primary goal.
I don't think that is exclusive to any particular (group).
However it can be more prevalent in one (group), more so than in another (group).
(political, religiously, gender, age, cultural, traditional, etc.)

It is simply observation and stated goals and actions of any particular (group) and their (particular adherents and supporters) that give rise to their acceptance, rejection or criticism.

I would say; pretty much everyone wants to know the TRUTH ~ but that not everyone wants to know the TRUTH for the same reason.

Christ Jesus is the TRUTH and teaches its purpose for a man to have the TRUTH, is because it does TWO things;
It is the prelude that sets a man free from the bondage of sin.
and once accepted and acquired...
It is armor against sin having the capability of capturing a man and returning the man BACK into the bondage of sin.

Men wanting the TRUTH as a WEAPON, is not a novelty in the political arena. Nor is it exclusive to any one political Party.
But I would agree, it is more prevalent in the Socialist and Democratic political Parties, particularly with a Progressive agenda, to seek out the TRUTH as a Weapon.

If so what would that have to do with Trump?

Because "special elections" only apply to that which is confined within the meaning of a "special election".

Just saying ~ IF the claim is trying to tie an applicability to Trump, based on a "special election".
There was no legal applicability to Trump regarding a "special election".

And further; (regarding the POTUS) The "WHO" is lawfully designated to replace a sitting President, WHO dies, resigns, or is expelled is already statutorily decided.
