However, it hasn't gone well so far. Most recently, Jon Ossoff lost to Republican Karen Handel in Georgia's 6th District special election. It seems that some Democrats are now engaging in some introspection.
During a segment of Fox News Channel's “Media Buzz with Howard Kurtz,” the host brought up points made by Democratic Party leaders who are saying that they're spending too much time focusing on bashing Trump and not enough time conveying a concise message.
Kurtz brought up an interview in which Ohio Congressman Tim Ryan (D) told the New York Times that the Democratic Party was “toxic,” adding:
“Our brand is worse than Trump. We can’t just run against Trump.”
Another Democrat to speak out against his own party was Sen. Chris Murphy (D-CT), who said on “Morning Joe” recently:
“The fact that we have spent so much time talking about Russia has been a distraction from what should be the clear contrast between Democrats and the Trump agenda, which is on economics.”
