I believe this athletic group-think (howbeit forced upon the players) show of disdain of the American national anthem was a planned bellwether test of the progressive left social engineers to measure the patriotism of the American 'basket of deplorables".

The resulting tsunami of "deplorable" anger was bad news for the marxists - they need to greatly delay the revolution.

"Oh, why didn't SHE win and appoint a 'living-breathing Constitutionalist' SCOTUS and revoke the 2nd amendment"!?

The more I think about this issue, the more mixed feelings I have. I do not pledge the Flag because of the phrases "one nation" and the word "indivisible." The founders did not intend the Union to be a captive nation that made the states subservient prisoners. The founders did not intend Law Enforcement to have the oppressive overreaching powers they now have. The founders did not intend the court ,the weakest branch, to become the dictatorial branch. The founders did not intend for God to be kicked out of Schools and Government. The Founders did not intend our leaders to be lying scumbags. I could go on and on. For almost 180 degree opposite reasons, I am developing the attitude of Jeremiah Wright.
