Jon said, "in the Bible." I am not sure if you are aware of this, but Calvin, Luther, and Wright did not write or inspire the bible.

I agree with that, as NONE of them were Apostles, but he seems to think that Calvin just pulled it out of his hat one day, and the view of the penal substitionary death of Christ was held way before Calvin, and most Reformed and Calvinist Baptists still hold to that view!

Since N.T. Wright is also reformed and does believe in PSA (using your definition) but like Luther differs from Calvin, no, that is not what I'm saying.

I am saying that like Catholics you are basing your belief on tradition and not Scripture. The evidence is that when questioned and asked to provide a passage stating your view you provide Calvin and Luther, and challenge anyone who would question your tradition.

Which is not the point. The point is, and was, "in the Bible." Can you support your assertions from the bible? Not from Luther. Not from Calvin. Not from Wright. From "the bible." Get it now?

Actually, I would be using the same scriptures Calvin and other reformers used to get the Pst theology, and Wright is NOT Reformed.

And what scriptures would those be? So far you, as usual, have posted NO scripture. None. Zip. Nada. Zero.

Yes, and myself as well as Martin and the Biblist have already done that on this subject, its just that JonC seems to not see that thre is an actual wrath of God towards sins/sinners that Jesus had to pay for at the Cross.

Wrong that Isaiah did teach to us about a suffering Messiah, who would come and die in the place of His people for their own sins?

I am not sure where you are getting your information, but NT Wright is most definitely Reformed. He is an Anglican bishop. And he also uses the same Scriptures.

In fact, most Christians who reject PSA use the same Scriptures.

To be an Anglican Bishop is, to put it mildly, not an indication that one is Reformed.

Unfortunately, N.T. Wright is not a figure of history, but a clear and present danger.
The churches and leaders of the Baptist Union in Britain are a pretty disparate lot, but at the present time, there is only one Bishop (and a very junior one) in the Church of England who is Reformed [and he's not N.T. Wright who has been retired for some years.

Everything. He makes claims without posting any scripture to back up his claims so I can do the same. D
