    That is not what The Confession teaches!

    Didn't you say you held to The Confession?:

    I know that getting saved and being kept saved is based upon the Person and work of God, not on Sabbath keeping!

    They hold that the TEN Commandments -- all TEN - were included in the moral law of God Jer 31:31-33 and also in Hebrews 8:6-12 under the NEW Covenant.

    They hold that Colossians 2 does not delete the Sabbath Commandment

    They hold that the TEN Commandments were obligatory in Eden.

    ======================================================================

    Your argument that they call for "editing" the Sabbath commandment to re-point it to week-day-1 is where you may think they did the right thing.

    I think they did the right thing on all the "other" things listed above.

    However it DOES matter to God if we take His name in vain -- even though that commandment is never quoted in the NT.

    Do you agree with that?

    And do you agree with the Baptist Confession of faith - and also D.L. Moody that all TEN of the TEN commandments are written on the heart under the NEW Covenant since they are all included in the moral Law of God for all mankind?

    So then in your doctrine they are right to say that all TEN of the TEN Commandments are in fact included in the moral law of God - written on the heart under the NEW Covenant... and you also think that Sabbath commandment can be "edited" to point to any day man wishes??

    hmm - that is helpful clarification.

    a keeper.

    NONE of them would hold to the Sabbath as Saturday as being binding now upon the Christians now under the new Covenant.

    The Sabbath as saturday was given to israel alone, as we now celebrate the Lords Day, Resurrection Day of Sunday, but ANY day that we honor is honored now by the Lord!

    You said you agreed with the Baptist Confession of faith at one time -- THEY admit to the Bible fact that ALL TEN of the TEN Commandments were for ALL MANKIND in the OT and still are in the NT..

    Is it your position that in the OT the gentiles were not human??

    The Confessions and reformed baptists hold that we are under the moral obligation of the law, but as to the Sabbath, that Sunday is now our Sabbath day!

    Actually, we believe that, while we worship on Sunday, following the tradition of the first Christians who worshipped on Sunday, because that's the day on which Christ was raised, Christ is now become our Sabbath, not a day of the week.

    The whole point of the Sabbath day was to provide a day of rest in order to point to the rest we would have from our salvific labors in Christ. If Christ has come and has fulfilled the law on our behalf, then there's no more need of the shadow. We have the real thing.

    As a result, Christ is our rest, not a day of the week. You may feel free to worship on a Saturday, a Sunday, or a Tuesday afternoon, if you wish. Just don't think it's a requirement to place you or others back under the law.

    Yes, as that would be the viewpoint being expressed by the autor of Hebrews to us under now regarding the real Sabbath day resy we now have in Christ!
    The Sda, as the RCC does, takes the literal understanding concerning doctrines such as Communion and Sabbath, and not see the Spiritual intended meanings.

    Yeshua1,
    Elsewhere I have conclusively proven SDA, like the JWs, is a cult.
    Isn't it Board policy to remove cultists and, for instance, those who
    do not believe in the Trinity?
    Recall, SDA teaches that Christ is the Archangel Michael; a Created
    Being, not Lord and God.
    I happen to know someone who was kicked off the Forums for saying
    the three Persons of the Godhead were not equal.
    Are you going to continue to debate with BobRyan, who like the Witnesses,
    is thoroughly brainwashed, and will NOT change his mind, no matter how
    persuasive you think your arguments are?
    The best you can do is to pray for his salvation. I don't let them in my front door;
    don't let him in through the front door of your mind!

    And they admit that all TEN of the TEN Commandments are included in what they call the "Moral Law"

    Indeed they imagine that it is possible to edit the Commandments of God in some way...The one point where I differ with them on that subject.
