    Hello all!

I am currently conducting research for a new novel about the afterlife. I would like many of my characters to be Christians from different denominations (including non-denominational).

To create respectful and accurate representations of Christianity, I would like to interview people whose faith background is similar to the characters I am creating. Interviews are conducted over the phone and usually last 1 - 2 hours. If you live in the Central Valley or San Francisco Bay area of California, an in-person interview may be possible. Interviewees would be expected to sign a release form.

I am particularly interested in interviewing Baptists, Pentecostals, and non-denominational Evangelical Christians. I am also interested in speaking with former adherents to Christian Science. I may make a call in the near future for Christians of other denominations.

If you are interested in helping me, please private message me or reply to this post.

Thank you all for your interest and consideration. I hope to hear from many of you soon.

Christian Scientists, despite having "Christian" in their name, are not Christians. They deny the core tenets of Christianity and are generally considered a cult.

Hello and thank you for sharing your opinion.

The book I am writing deals with many different religions, not just mainstream Christianity. I know there are many ministries aimed at former adherents to Christian Science. One of the characters in my book was a follower of Christian Science who converted to Christianity. I'm hoping to find someone like that here who would be willing to speak with me.

God already provided a book about His Church: the Book of Acts. There is no fiction. This book records the history of the First Church plus many churches which sprang from the First Church. There has been a remnant of His Church in every generation. There have been martyrs in every generation even through today. Some so-called Christians were killing other Christians during the so-called Dark Ages. See exploits of the Jesuits and Holy Roman Empire.

Most religions found today are man/woman made without exception; i.e. Constantine, the Great and his mother Helena started what is known as Catholicism in the 4th century. Mary Baker Glover Patterson Eddy started Christian Science in the 19th century. Only one church can be traced to Jesus the Christ starting the First Church on the shores of Galilee, circa 30 AD. See Mt. 16:18 plus context.

Jesus promised to never leave nor forsake His Little Flock. He has kept His promise.

There are many churches led by Satan out there. Beware of the wolves dressed like sheep.

For one group which has a spiritual connection to the First Church see: "Nonprotestant Baptists"by W. Bekgaard.

    There are many others.

    Even so, come, Lord Jesus.

Haaaaaaaaa! What a joke. Catholicism, or Universalism was around from the very beginning. There was but one Universal (Catholic) Christian Church from the get go. From the first century onward, the Christian Church evolved and it was led by Bishops who are collectively known as the Early Church Fathers. They were the one's who led the Christian Church and who decided Christian doctrines through the various synods and councils that were held periodically. They fought heresies that would come up from time to time and they decided which writings would make up the canon of Sacred Scripture that all Christians believed. Other than a few minor sects, all Christians looked to the Universal (Catholic) Church for guidance in their walk with Christ.

The Baptist faith tradition did not come about until the 1600's and was started by John Smythe, himself a former minister in the Church of England.

I sure hope our friend does not believe your lies and fantasies about the truth of the Christian faith here on earth.

Just who the real heretics might be is an interesting adventure in ecclesiastical history. While the universal church heresy has roots in antiquity, it is still false teaching. Constantine was the first to prop this religion as a state religion. He headed the Council of Nicea. His mama, aka: St. Helena, provided many of the icons as well as the deed to the Vatican property which is a sovereign state. Circa 380, Emperor Theodosius cut an Edict of Thessalonica, making this group of heretics the sole authorized religion of the Empire. The so-called Holy Roman Empire was birthed. She is still here, not so much in charge overtly, but still the masterpiece of religious deception.

Many attempts to reform these apostates have been made. There was even a Catholic Counter Reformation. There are reformed reformers. How does one reform apostasy? It is still apostasy reformed. See similarities between the Catholics and Anglicans; Anglicans and Methodists.

Sorry, you have groups with baptistic practices long before John Smythe was born. Read: "Nonprotestant Baptists," by Wm. Bekgaard. This is not about a name but rather a faith and practice which goes back to the shores of Galilee when Jesus gathered His First Church. He promised to never leave nor forsake them. He has been faithful--even when we are not.

To be sure, someone is lying. Choose wisely.

    Even so, come, Lord Jesus.

Everything about Christian orthodoxy is false teaching according to you folks. Nothing like disregarding the history of the Christian Church here on earth, eh bucko?

Before there was grape juice and crackers there was water, wine, and unleavened bread and the resulting Body and Blood of Christ. That's the big one you folks miss, the most orthodox teaching from the very beginning.

Once you deny that, anything else you might say about Christianity is extremely suspect.

"I am currently conducting research for a new novel about the afterlife."

Make sure in the novel the Catholics have all gone straight to hell. Cause we aim to be jailbreak/crusader types.:Laugh

If there is any religion minority we stick for the underdogs even Athiests.

18And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.

Folks read that verse and usually think its a fortress withstanding attacks from hell. But its we are on the offensive attacking hell's gates.

We are marchin' into Mordor, Its always a rescue mission, We have to pull for the underdog, Error on the side of mercy.

Hold ourselves as the first villain and cause of evil before ever pointing a finger at another.

Catholics catch fire on both sides and hunted down by ANGELS and DEMONS. The good guys say we are the whore of babylon, and the bad guys....They are catholic too.

It doesn't matter how powerful anything is, how bright a throne, or vast of odds, remain guardian to kindness, love and compassion.

Good midnight study: Massacre at Beziers.

Orthodoxy--an interesting notion. The East and West have had a major schism about the primacy of Peter for hundreds of years. Both groups cannot be right. They could both be wrong. Now what?

All we have for communion is taro bread and coconut milk--not a grape to be found anywhere. What do we do?

    Even so, come, Lord Jesus.

In the things that really count, they are both right. I could attend the Divine Liturgy in an Eastern Orthodox church and it is basically the same as the Catholic Mass.

You can't do anything. You simply will not be able to have Holy Communion as the Scriptures has commanded.

Sure seems the primacy of Peter is the cornerstone of the the holy see. Remove the primacy of Peter from Mt. 16:18 and there is no papacy. How can this be a trivial difference? This is a pivotal point. It cannot be all of the above. What about the possibility they (East and West) are both wrong?

So all of the brethren in the islands of the Pacific Ocean and many other parts of the world which have no grapes cannot have communion. There are words to turn the grape wine into blood but no words to make grape wine out of coconut milk? That seems an interesting quirk in transubstantiation. This is really not a problem until one tries to change the DNA.

    Are you sure?

    Even so, come, Lord Jesus.

Yes, this statement of yours is true, this point is not a trivial difference. There is no possibility that the East and West could be wrong as both follow the Christian faith as it evolved with the continuing belief in the sacraments. God would not have allowed such a lie to be propagated to so many people for so long a time.

Yes, you have that right. The Scriptures state that wine must be used - no wine, no Holy Communion. Thankfully, trade has been going on since men started sailing worldwide in ships and they brought the fermented fruit of the vine with them. Our brethren in such places thus indeed did have and now always have the necessary elements available for the sacred sacrament.

In summary: the schism between East and West regarding the primacy of Peter is not that important yet is not a trivial difference. Huh? What is the lie referenced above? The primacy of Peter is either true or false. If false, it is a lie. If true, the East and the rest of the religious world are anathema. Council of Trent is still in effect. However, the mutual excommunications have been recinded recently. (1965)

Regarding the fruit of the vine: is this new wine, vintage wine or what? Will muscadines do? What color are the grapes?

Were the conquistadors carrying wine? Perhaps. Most of their activities were raping, pilaging and plundering the natives. It is duly noted that there were papal priests giving sacraments. Exploitation of the masses is a common failing in human nature. The problem is the ones who fly a banner with a cross on it.--perhaps a perversion of: in hoc signo vinces from the founder of Vatican CityState. Now what?

Read a modern history of Christopher Columbus. Some say he returned to Europe in shackles.

Time to wake up, our redemption draws neigh.

    Even so, come, Lord Jesus.

    .

Don't you folks claim that we are all members of the Body of Christ? Then you too share in the guilt of past actions by any Christian who did such things.

New wine or old wine, if it is fermented from grapes it is called wine, anything else is called grape juice. When Jesus was going around preaching and he sat down to eat and drink, it was wine which he drank, a fermented beverage which contained alcohol.

Not into stereotypes and generalities. The Body of Christ does not do such things. Real Christians do not do such things. The world is filled with pseudo Christianity. Jesus never harmed anyone nor forced His religion on anyone. Real Christians are harmless as doves.

There will be an accounting for sure. We have no excuse for not knowing The Truth. We have no excuses, having been warned of the judgement to come.

    Where will we spend eternity?
