On Thursday, the news cycle erupted over a report claiming President Donald Trump referred to some African countries as "s***holes." The media went into meltdown mode, calling Trump a racist, a white nationalist, and a terrorist; CNN shed a lot of tears expressing their moral outrage. Democrats, likewise feigning moral distress, pounced on the opportunity to bash Mr. Trump.

But whether or not you find the "s***hole" reference offensive, some Republicans are saying they don't recall Trump using such verbiage.

On Friday, following a denial from the president himself, Republican Senators Tom Cotton and David Perdue, both of whom attended the bipartisan meeting on immigration, said they did not recall Trump using such language.

"We do not recall the President saying these comments specifically but what he did call out was the imbalance in our current immigration system, which does not protect American workers and our national interest," said a joint statement from the senators.

Sen. Dick Durbin (D-IL) accused President Donald Trump on Friday of referring to African countries as "s***holes" during a meeting that they both attended on Thursday.

Durbin told reporters that what Trump said was "hate-filled, vile and racist," adding that "the most disheartening thing to me is my belief that that was the first time words that hateful had been spoken in the Oval Office of the White House."

There's just one problem with Durbin's claims: He has a history of making up statements from private White House meetings.

    In 2013, Politico reported:

“In a ‘negotiation’ meeting with the president, one GOP House Leader told [President Barack Obama]: ‘I cannot even stand to look at you,’” Durbin wrote in a post on his Facebook page over the weekend.

However, both the White House and the House speaker’s office denied Durbin’s account of events.

Asked about the post in the White House daily briefing, press secretary Jay Carney said he checked with a participant of the meeting in question.

“I looked into this and spoke with somebody who was in that meeting and it did not happen,” Carney said.

Obviously he was the leak. Apparently the Dems came tot he table with a small amount of funds for the wall but tried to expand both the lottery and the chain migration. Trump said he would never sign that and Durbin the great liar told people this fake news in order to discredit them so they could get what they want. It is the worst of politics but par for the course from the Marxist Dems.

The President denies it and two GOP Senators deny it. The President should give up on meeting with the Democrats on this issue.

Sen. Tim Scott, R-S.C., said fellow South Carolina Republican Sen. Lindsey Graham confirmed President Trump referred to some nations as “s***hole countries” during a White House meeting that Graham attended with lawmakers Thursday.

Scott told the Post and Courier that Graham said the comments that have been widely reported by the press are “basically accurate.”

Well, it was supposed to be a private meeting, guess from now on Trump ought to tape everything. Sort of high school, Durbin told Graham who told Scott - I don't know the truth here but it's probably one of Dick's paraphrases of something Trump said, where he distorted it in the worst way possible,

What’s Trumps problem with this anyway...just deport them all, build that wall and while at it fire Mueller. Is he getting soft now?

    Durbin is a proven liar.

Are you saying Sen. Perdue is lying?

Well, I trust the video there and if you watch it, Perdue does say:

“The gross misrepresentation was that language was used in there that was not used and also that the tone of that meeting was not contributory and not constructive.”

    Followed by:

“I’m telling you he did not use that word, George. And I’m telling you it’s a gross misrepresentation. How many times do you want me to say that?”

After George (you mean your Christian faith) nagged him about what he had heard. I still think Durbin was hearing what he thought Trump was thinking but the odds of a deal have collapsed, they don't trust each other at all.

It is basically accurate that some countries are sewer-holes. Graham used to use the term "hellholes" for some countries.

But the statement in question that Durbin released was not accurate, and no one has backed it up—that Trump is trying to ban all immigrants from certain non-white nations. That's in essence what the media is pushing.

Sadly, this is hurting Trump as the racist mantra is being repeated everywhere. I firmly believe the lies, in the end, won't work, and we'll overcome. Trump has his work cut out for him.
