It is a given that God loved fallen mankind in this way, He gave His one of a kind Son so that everyone believing into Him would not perish but have eternal life.

But was this love unconditional, or did God require the fallen to "believe into Him" in order to receive salvation? So "salvation love" is not unconditional but conditional.

Therefore God's love provided the means of salvation to fallen mankind.
Then, for everyone believing into Him, God provides spiritual rebirth, with those whose faith is credited as righteousness, becoming "children of God" who are then loved as a member of God's family.

So the issue it seems to me is how does a worthless sinner "believe into Him?"

And before you jump, posting guesses, remember that God and God alone put us into Him.

For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: (Eph 2:8)

Faith is a gift of God, you believe because God gave the gift of faith to you.

Actually all men sinned in ADAM and comes short of this glory.

You were dead in sins and trespasses.

Holy spirit makes you alive to the things of God, by the work of regeneration.

    Ye must be born again.

    Regeneration precedes faith.

Your faith is not credited as righteousness.
What scripture says Abraham believed God, and for that reason God and it was counted unto him as righteousness.

Justification is a judicial act, when a person trust in Christ, God will impute Christ perfect righteousness, means He will credit the righteousness of Christ in to sinners account. Thus God sees a sinner as a righteous person.

    Van,

Where did you get the translation that uses “believing into him?”

Faith is not a gift, salvation is the gift and the power to obtain salvation is in the gospel (Romans 1:16) and the ability to hear and understand the gospel comes from the preaching of the gospel (Romans 10:17). There is no unseen projection of faith by God. Faith comes from the preaching of the gospel, no place else.

Salvation is a boarder term, when bible speaks about salvation, it speaks about many aspects of salvation

"First, salvation as an accomplished fact, "Your faith has saved you" (Luke 7:50), "by grace you have been saved" (Greek, and so translated in the R.V.—Eph. 2:8), "according to His mercy He saved us" (Titus 3:5).

Second, salvation as a present process, in course of accomplishment, not yet completed, "Unto us which are being saved" (1 Cor. 1:18—R.V.); "Those who believe to the saving (not 'salvation') of the soul" (Heb. 10:39).

Third, salvation as a future prospect, "Sent forth to minister for them who shall be heirs of salvation" (Heb. 1:14), "receive with meekness the engrafted Word, which is able to save your souls" (James 1:21), "Kept by the power of God through faith Studies in the Scriptures July, 1938 20 unto salvation, ready to be revealed in the last time" (1 Peter 1:5).

Thus, by putting together these different passages, we are clearly warranted in formulating the following statement—every genuine Christian has been saved, is now being saved, and will yet be saved—how and from what, we shall endeavor to show.

As further proof of how many-sided is the subject of God's great salvation and how that in Scripture it is viewed from various angles, take the following, "by grace are you saved" (Eph. 2:8), "saved by His (Christ's) life" (that is) by His resurrection life (Romans 5:9), "your faith has saved you" (Luke 7:50), "the engrafted Word which is able to save your souls" (James 1:21), "saved by hope" (Romans 8:24), "saved yet as by fire" (1 Cor. 3:15), "the like figure where unto baptism does also now save us" (1 Peter 3:21)."
If we believe that we are capable of working up faith in our souls, we cannot boast in Christ alone. But if we understand that we have faith only because of the work of the Holy Spirit, then we can truly give God all the glory for our salvation. We are not to look at ourselves as better than others because we believe the gospel; rather, we are to be profoundly grateful that God has chosen to grant us faith even though we are undeserving sinners.

"First, we must look at the ultimate origin of our faith. Without a doubt, most modern evangelicals believe that human beings have an innate capacity for Godglorifying faith — that even unregenerate sinners are able to work up trust in the gospel and that faith comes before a changed heart. Despite the popularity of this view, it is inconsistent with biblical revelation. Romans 8:7–8 explains that it is impossible for minds set on the flesh to please God and obey Him. People who are not in Christ are in the flesh, so they lack the ability to do the Lord’s will. Since His will for us is that we trust in His promises, unbelievers are incapable in themselves of believing in Christ Jesus for salvation. Furthermore, John 3:3 says that we cannot even see the kingdom of God unless we are first born again by the Spirit. If we cannot see God’s kingdom, we can by no means enter it. In sum, faith can arise only from a new heart. To put it in theological categories: regeneration precedes faith."

Thus faith is a gift of God.
You are already dead in your sins and trespasses, read Ephesians 2nd chapter,
Dead person cannot have faith, because he don't have any life.
Gospel is power of God, by which sinner comes to life by grace through faith in Jesus Christ, this is a miracle work of God.

Here again is the opening post question:
So the issue it seems to me is how does a worthless sinner "believe into Him?"

I just skimmed the follow on posts, but did not see where someone tried to actually answer the question.

But the usual suspects were long on false assertions and change the subject questions. Go figure

I think that John 3 indicates this to be an unconditional love for all mankind - God loved the world (mankind...and Creation itself as it had been subject to the Fall as well) by sending His Son that all who believed might have life. That love is unconditioned. Salvation, however, is conditioned (all who believe will have eternal life).

Couldn’t answer because you didn’t clarify the use of the word “into.”

“Into” is a word the carries the concept of placement.

i ask where you got the translation of John 3 so that I could attend more specifically to your OP.

If it is from your own work, then I commend you in part, but suggest that “into” might be weak to unsupportable unless you supply further details as to what concept you want brought into, “into.”

It's interesting that the Lord Jesus said, "I am the resurrection and the life; no one comes to the Father except through Me,' whereas we seem to be being told that no one comes to Christ unless the Father puts him there.

Jesus answered and said to them, 'This is the work of God, that ye may believe in (into) him whom He did send.' John 6:39

44 No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day.

1 Cor 12:3 wherefore, I give you to understand that no one, in the Spirit of God speaking, saith Jesus is anathema, and no one is able to say Jesus isLord, except in the Holy Spirit.

    John 14:16-20 and I will ask the Father, and another Comforter He will give to you, that he may remain with you -- to the age; the Spirit of truth, whom the world is not able to receive, because it doth not behold him, nor know him, and ye know him, because he doth remain with you, and shall be in you. 'I will not leave you bereaved, I come unto you; yet a little, and the world doth no more behold me, and ye behold me, because I live, and ye shall live; in that day ye shall know that I am in my Father, and ye in me, and I in you;

    'This Jesus did God raise up, of which we are all witnesses; at the right hand then of God having been exalted -- also the promise of the Holy Spirit having received from the Father -- he was shedding forth this, which now ye see and hear;

Believe into, him (His one of a kind Son), whom He did send.

God loves only His own in saving fashion, so its like we can love the neighbor kids, but in a deeper/intimate way love only our own kids!

I see several topics addressed, but no one addressed how a worthless sinner believes into Him. The Cal's regurgitated their falsehood assertion that a sinner cannot believe such that God would credit their faith as righteousness. Never mind Romans chapter 4.

How does one get chosen to be set apart in Christ except through faith in the truth? No verse will be forthcoming. Thus believing into Christ occurs when God credits the worthless sinner's worthless faith as righteousness and sets him or her apart in Christ.

The reason is that God alone freely decides who is to get included in the rank of the redeemed....
