The average age of the so called, "dreamers" is 24, which means that would be in direct competition with recent college grads who are CITIZENS with the reasonable expectation of their country enforcing its laws.

Misplaced compassion for the lawbreaker always leaves an innocent victim being harmed.

Enforcement of law and order for the good of it CITIZENS is what God gave the sword to government for.

 

Personally, a bill which addresses both border security and "dreamers" needs to be proposed, as the two issues are inextricably linked. Solve them together, once and for all, and I'd be happy.

But then my fear is that a Democratic administration will come along and ignore border security in the hopes of procuring more votes, and start the whole problem over again.

 

If we ever build this wall, as soon as the Democrats could they would cut doorways into it and put out a welcome mat.

 

The Party of Sanctuary Cities doesn’t give me hope that they would uphold any security measures emplaced by Republicans.

 

I said that the left wants jihadists, cartel members, habitual criminals, and fifth columnists but you cut it. You also cut where I said that Teddy Kennedy wanted cheap labor in 1964 to undercut blacks. I also said that Democrats want illegals for votes. Both parties want cheap labor.

Beyond that you have never explained how you would deport 3.6 million people. A lot of them are probably in poverty-stricken California.

The key is to repeal the Kennedy act.

People are deported as individuals. You deport them as fast as you can manage. If you deport aggressively, some will leave on their own.

 

IMO, Qualifying "Dreamers" should be offered a path to citizenship or a one-way ticket to the place birth as a one time historical event.

The path: Military Service, Community Service, Government Infrastructure work, etc...

The bulk of the fault of their "offense" lies with two entities 1) Their parents, 2) The US government in not catching/deporting the parents upon entry.

Obviously a codification of laws to prevent the DACA problem from repeating is also necessary.

No the problem is their parent brought them here illegally and now they are suffering the consequences, just as many other children do when their parents do illegal things. These kids are no exception in life. If we are going to do something special for these kids then we need to do something special for all kids who's parents have created difficult situations for their kids due to illegal activity.

 

Sometimes a president pardons criminals, that doesn't mean he is therefore obligated to pardon all criminals.

This is a mass pardon if you will with law being enacted to keep it from happening again.
