I disagree. Sounds to me like the juror had her mind made up before deliberations ever bagan and it had nothing to do with the evidence.

Well, I was corrected, this juror was aready picked before their "revelation," but...

If a potential juror said that they had received divine revelation as to the guilt or imnocence of a defendant, well, it sounds to me like their mind is made up.

Hard to get a fair trial if one of your jurors already has the answer before the trial.

Now, if you were falsely accused of a crime, would you want a person who believed that God told them you were guilty on your jury?

I don't know if it's legal, but they should be.

Well if you want to go down that road, it would be hard to fault prosecutors for dismissing black jurors because the defendant was black. A DA many years ago that I tried many cases with always did that. He denied that reasoning, but if the defendant was black, he was going to use every strike he had on black jurors. Its smart if you are just looking at winning and losing, but it is dirty and unethical.

Brown ordered to report to Florida prison camp

Federal appeals court denied her request to remain out of prison during her appeal.

Brown, who was convicted of federal corruption, conspiracy, tax evasion and fraud, can report earlier than noon Monday to the Sumterville prison camp, but the I-TEAM source said that she will likely stretch her freedom as long as she can. She is expected to attend a church service Sunday in Jacksonville. The Federal Bureau of Prisons has already assigned Brown a federal inmate number: 67315-018.

The judge has the legal duty to dismiss any juror who has predetermined guilt.

Corrine Brown attends Baptist church service before heading to prison camp

On Sunday, the former congresswoman spent her last morning of freedom attending services at Bethel Baptist Church. Brown, a 12-term congresswoman, was convicted of 18 charges, including fraud, conspiracy and cheating on her taxes.

station WJXT-TV was...forced across the street by security while Brown was inside....One churchgoer told WJXT that the church showed support for Brown...holding hands while saying a prayer for her. WJXT tried watching Bethel Baptist’s live stream of its service, but the signal was cut off before the prayer at the end of the service.

Rev. Richard P. Burton, Sr. of Jacksonville's Baptist Bible Church "cited a verse from the Bible in his letter.":

[Matthew 18:21-22] “Then Peter came up and said to him, ‘Lord, how often will my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? As many as seven times?' Jesus said to him, 'I do not say to you seven times, but seventy times seven.'”

"Under the power vested in you by Article II, Section 2 of the Constitution, I ask that you use your good office to commute the sentence of Corrine Brown so she can rejoin her family and become a productive citizen again."
