Now he will tell you that you have not shown that you understand what hostile even means.

That is most certainly not the case. Though I am no one of consequence, I teach the Bible every day.

Smile, so to the pastor who teaches that God, The devil and I have a say in my salvation. How do I discern your accuracy and sincerity?

In my life, I’ve come across men of the church who have interpreted scripture many different ways, some with deep humility and others with an agenda, and devastating certitude. As I’ve said before, my own mother would teach me from a young age that the RCC was the one true church.... so if my own mother could be misled... if the Presbyterian elder that claimed my dead child is in hell for not being baptized...if the pastor that claimed that the devil colludes with God to establish my salvation, well then whom shall I trust?

And I get that you are a seminary graduate, I get that some in here may upset you with their delivery of scripture, I get all that. But what you don’t get is that some are equally upset with your delivery of scripture. You represent the, sit down & and shut up I’m now delivering truth to you and you better wise up kinda style that others find abhorrent. Other than that, you’re OK!

"You Calvinists" you said in the above. Haven't you claimed to one yourself?

Dr. M-L-J is one of your heroes of the Faith (mine as well). You have extolled him as well as others of his stamp. Yet now you are disavowing your previously Calvinistic understanding of the Scripture?!

I will always love ML-J, James Montgomery Boice, Spurgeon, Pink,George Whitefield, Edwards etc however they are all men with biases. However God has no bias. We can do nothing apart from Him (the creator of heaven and earth). I find rest in His grace.

But I am still puzzled by your "you Calvinists" line. It's like RM's "Calvies" derogatory reference. If you have repect for the Scripture and respect the men you referenced above why denigrate? To what theolgical position have you now gravitated?

The citizens of Geneva used to use a motto I’m quite taken by, post tenebras lux (after darkness, light)

No...because it doesn’t go back far enough. Radical is signifying the Latin word Radix (root). The dictionary says that a radical is one who goes back to the root, the source, the fundamentals.

It is not an accusation if in fact you lack understanding. It becomes an observation of fact.

Accuracy is discerned by how close someone stays to the Bible.

You should trust the word of God.

I'm not upset. The issue here is that there are some misrepresenting the text of scripture, some by ignorance, some by intent. The issue is not a philosophical expression of how you (generic; anyone) want the world to work, but a biblical understanding of how the world actually work.

It is highly unfortunate that you think my writing is a "sit-down-and-shut-up" tactic. That simply isn't the case. I've have been quite firm and inflexible about asking those to substantiate their claims, use proper definitions, etc. And, I have been insistent that people argue from the text of scripture. If you (or others) cannot handle that insistence, that's not my problem. That you take that insistence to be a "sit-down-shut-up" tactic is a demonstration of something unhealthy (that I will not go into here).

What is more, you rail against me for being so confident in what I think, yet you do the same and seem to give yourself a free pass.... You are allowed to determine my intentions and heart, but you bristle when someone else suggests they know your intentions and heart...

    Blessings,

    The Archangel
