When folks play the "sins of the fathers" card against someone (often without realizing it) they can be guilty of bearing false witness.
    That's IMO of course.

It's often manifested by statements resembling "your adult children's behavior is your fault"

There is nothing vindictive about it. All children reap what their parents sow. That's by God's design. Parents who invest time and money in their children's education and early career development have children who typically reap a wonderful bounty because of what their parents have done. On the other hand, children of parents who drink the rent money often end up poor and in prison.

    These are called: consequences.

Sinful parents can damaged their children severely. Greater sin - greater severity. There aren't many well-adjusted children of crack heads, for example.

Parents do have a huge influence on their children, for good or bad; therefore, they deserve much of the credit for the product of their hands.

Are you one who counsels others?
Then you should know how often that has been disproved by those from the "righteous" households turning out to be followers of destruction and those from "immoral" background finding salvation.

In my 56 years walking the lord - I have seen this many times.

We are each responsible to God outside of the influence of anything including parental influence.

    Things I did not say:

    - Good (godly) parenting is a guarantee of good children.

    - Each person is not responsible for his actions.

    Things I did say:

    - Good (godly) parenting typically brings about well-adjusted children and adults. This is a scriptural concept: "Train up a child. . ."

    - Rotten parents ruin their children, permanently. Not that these people can't overcome somewhat, but they will always walk with and emotional "limp". They will always have problems with interpersonal relationships, authority, work. . .

Lastly, what some consider "godly parents" are sometimes self-righteous prigs. They are legalists, and try to conform their behavior, and that of their children, to an outward standard of righteousness, but they, inwardly, are "whitewashed tombs".

Which is all you care about. Not the human condition. Politics first. Gospel second. You and Rev man, every single time.

Oh, then you want a bunch of Republican-voting immigrants who will be paid prevailing wages? Both parties want cheap labor. Pelosi cannot keep her homes looking good without cheap labor. Do you think that Barbara Streisand in Malibu can keep her palatial estate looking good without cheap labor? Do you think that the Democrats can keep control of California and Illinois without illegal immigrant votes?
