Gotten away from the ways of Christ to make our churches a place of entertainment?

There are churches who are bringing in concerts that sound like a large rowdy rock concert? Sure the kids love it but are they really getting the message of Christ?

I am afraid the "entertainment" is taking away from the real Church.

Yes, churches need to find a way to entice the younger generations but I am worried that this is NOT the way to do it.

Is it just me? Am I just too sensitive?

A co-worker was playing some of his gospel music and all I could here was squalling and squealing and lots of bass and drums. I couldn't hear any type of message in the music just a bunch of racket.

    Please help me to understand...

You are not far off. My position is that we have gotten lazy, undescipled, and severely ignorant and can no longer distinguish God's presence and power no do we expect it. So to make up the difference we create a worship experience. This passifies the consumers of worship who otherwise will say "I'm leaving this church, I just don't get fed here." All that show and bluster is about replacing the HG in our services. Their services feel empty of Him so they create their own worship experience and say thank you God.
