I one time had a Roman Catholic visit our church on vacation

They came in shorts and not dressed like they would if they were at their own church. At the end of the service they walked part way up the isle and crossed themselves. I met them at the door and when asked why they didn’t go the RC church she said, “I would never go into my church dressed like this.”

Good thing your church was on vacation and would accept informally dressed people!

We get tourists all the time. Particularly, we get folks from Europe. We may be the first Baptist church they've been in. So, I try to make them welcome as in some European countries Baptists are seen as a cult.

We had a young lady visit one Sunday who was wearing a mini-mini skirt.

One of our dear ladies rushed up to me and said, "Pastor, do you see how she's dressed?" I replied, "Yes, but aren't you glad she came?"

She said, "But Pastor, do you see how she's dressed?" I replied, "Yes, but aren't you glad she came?"

She again said, "But Pastor, do you see how she's dressed?" I replied, "Yes, but aren't . you . glad . she . came?"

She said, "But Pastor, . . . . . . . . . . I'm sure glad she came!" :D:D

However that’s how they dress today. One of the results of Vatican 2.

For some reason that made me think of John 21:15-17

Praise God for your response to her.

Same thing happen in a church in Florida some years back: man and woman wearing sailing clothes (white shirt and shorts) showed up for Sunday morning service. One of the deacons made objection to the pastor. Pastor replied similarly: "Would you rather they had just gone sailing _without_ coming to church?" The deacon fell silent.
