Paul Ryan won't seek re-election - CNNPolitics

House Speaker Paul Ryan is not seeking re-election and will retire from Congress after this year, the Wisconsin Republican announced Wednesday.

"You realize something when you take this job," Ryan told reporters on Capitol Hill on Wednesday morning. "It's a big job with a lot riding on you ... but you also know this is not a job that does not last forever. ... You realize you hold the office for just a small part of our history. So you better make the most of it."

Another Republican Congressman, this time the Speaker of the House, jumps off Trump's sinking ship.

He NEVER was on the ship, as he was a Rhino republican, and President Obama lost BOTH sides of Congress while reelected, so while Dems might regain the house, trump should reelect again, and still hold the Senate!

How many kids only see dad on weekends, one day a week or never. That’s a convenient excuse but one I understand Ryan making considering Paul lost his own dad when he was young

Guy talked a tough game on reining in deficit spending, getting balanced budgets, and entitlement reform, then went out and did the exact opposite of what he talked about. Do as I say, not as I do. I won't miss him.

No, those are your assertions. You've constantly said the Republicans take from the poor and give to the rich. I've called you on this repeatedly. Your response? "Well, Ryan and McConnell are planning to cut Medicare and Medicaid in 2018". So you have nothing.

Now Ryan is not running for reelection. You have less than nothing.

I'm thankful Ryan failed in his mission to take away support from the poor and needy.
