"But the same Bible that reveals the complementarian pattern of male leadership in the home and the church also reveals God’s steadfast and unyielding concern for the abused, the threatened, the suffering, and the fearful. There is no excuse whatsoever for abuse of any form, verbal, emotional, physical, spiritual or sexual. The Bible warns so clearly of those who would abuse power and weaponize authority. Every Christian church and every pastor and every church member must be ready to protect any of God’s children threatened by abuse and must hold every abuser fully accountable. The church and any institution or ministry serving the church must be ready to assure safety and support to any woman or child or vulnerable one threatened by abuse.

The church must make every appropriate call to law enforcement and recognize the rightful God-ordained responsibility of civil government to protect, to investigate, and to prosecute." - Albert Mohler

I’m in no way trying to hijack this thread, as the links I’m posting pertain to everything that is going on right now with the SBC. I ran across this site recently, & find myself in agreement with the articles & the comments, so for what it’s worth to anyone:

The case against J.D. Greear as Southern Baptist Convention President

J.D. Greear says Christians & Muslims Worship the Same God

BREAKING: Ken Hemphill to be nominated for SBC President; SBC to have non-Russell Moore endorsed candidate

Yep, if they are ever going to make the whole convention more calvinist they need to have all seminary Presidents calvinist. Their push will likely run people off not that they care.

The only issue I have with Mohler's comments is that they can be viewed as bowing to the pressure of the #metoo movement. Viewing Mohler's comments charitably, I am sure he did not mean them that way. However, considering how high-profile Mohler is, the media will dissect every word he has to say on this topic. Hopefully, the S.B.C. will stay Biblical about this and not be dragged into the popular narrative.

The popular narrative. Hmm. It is amazing how most people fall for the popular narrative.

I agree with you, & the site agrees with you. They are trying to make people aware of the direction the sbc will take if they go with this guy.

This kind of evil statement is why they need to purge out these traditionalists who oppose God and His word.

["God’s refusal to determine the repentance of sinners when it is within his power to do so can be called nothing other than immoral. Damning certain people by withholding something freely given to others is not glorious. It is indeed a horrible decree." ~Eric Hankins, PhD]

The hubris of you and others to post such rubbish is a disgrace.
