Questions raised after 'Public Art' program installs giant statue of bottom-flashing woman directly across from a church:

The woman is a larger than life statue of Marilyn Monroe.
She's not mooning, but you can see her (modest) underwear.

It's a depiction of the iconic scene from the movie "Seven Year Itch" when Monroe's character stands over a subway grating and air from a passing train billows her skirt. In the movie she was only shown from the front. The rear view of the statue is the sculptor's imagining of the scene.

Yes, it's in bad taste. Yes the rear of the statue faces the church, (though it's across the street.)
