I am trying to get software to really help me with studying the Greek and Hebrew text of the Bible, Does anyone have an opinion on what is better between Logos or Accordance?

Determining which one is better is really a matter of preference. I have Logos and enjoy it. Its power word search function and Greek morphology are helpful. I recommend you have the fastest processor speed and the most amount of memory you can afford on your PC if you get Logos. Logos is a memory hog. It works best on a dedicated SSD with max processor speed and max memory.

I’ve found Logos on SSD on a Mac works much better than on PC.
If language is your primary purpose, I think Accordance advertises their leaning toward languages. Logos probably won’t leave you lacking, and their range of resources may be unmatched.

I’ve been using Logos Bible Software for more than 20 years.
I’ve only used Logos so I can’t compare it to the competition.
It’s software program has a steep learning curve which has advanced far beyond what I could ever use.

It’s chief advantage is the multitude upon multitudes of resources available; commentaries (new and classic), bibles (original language and translations), Systematic Theology texts, etc.
    • I’m an avid reader so it works for me. If you like to read widely, Logos would be the right fit for you as well.
    • If you have advanced computer skills and desire to use them in your study of the Bible, Logos is for you.
They also offer basic to advanced “mobile ed” video classes by some top scholars of today, to include classes in Hebrew and Greek and how to integrate what you learn into the FaithLife/Logos software.

I’d only suggest purchasing the program if you are willing to put some serious time aside to study how to use the program even before you delve into the language programs it offers.

Downside to the Logos software is cost, rather pricey.
Accordance may be less costly but it offers less.

And I must note, it is a big program that needs a lot of computing power to run. It works best on the newest gaming computers available.

Logos does a a "free" version of the basic software.

It is a step to see what the program acts like on a PC or Mac.

Decades ago, I used Sword Searcher. For the limited computer ability back then, it was really outstanding.

But then so were dial telephones and reel to reel films.

I used Bibleworks before Logos. Bibleworks did a great job. I miss it.

My son the Ph.D. swears by Accordance, but does know Logos. He teaches Hebrew and Greek at the seminary level, and Greek in undergrad, so he knows his stuff. Since you plan to be a Bible translator I suggest you go for the very best for accessing the original languages of Scripture, which is Accordance.
