    Regretfully thirty years ago, some of anti-illegal immigration community didn't clearly distinguish between the legal (some of whom have been in the US since the end of the Texas Revolution and the Mexican American War) Hispanic community and the illegals.

    The Left still refuses to recognize the nuance. They treat illegals and immigrants as the same and call all of them, immigrants.

    Failing to make the distinction clear the California GOP lost the Hispanic vote they were just starting to gain. They worried about children of illegals taking up space in the public schools. When they should have worried about the Dems taking over their seats.
