There's a little twit running around Europe these days freaking out about "climate change". I am referring to the Swedish child Greta Thunburg, who has the elite and other schoolchildren her age (15) enthralled with her vast knowledge of all things concerning weather and our world at large. One French philosopher (Michele Onfray) however apparently isn't so enthralled with the little dynamo.

As reported in Breitbart he recently said: “This girl has a cyborg face that ignores emotion — no smile, no laugh, no astonishment, no amazement, no pain, no joy. It makes think of these silicone dolls that announce the end of the human and the advent of the posthuman"

“It has the face, the age, the sex, and the body of a cyborg of the third millennium: its envelope is neutral. It is unfortunately what mankind is heading to,” he said and added: “What soul lives in this body without flesh? It’s hard to know.”

Onfray also raised his ire against the politicians and others who fawn around the young Swede saying that the worst thing “is in adults who enjoy being humiliated by one of their creatures”.

National Rally MEP (Member of the European Parliament) Jordan Baredella went even further saying: “This dictatorship of permanent emotion, moreover when it is based on children, is a new form of totalitarianism. It is beyond ridiculous".

How does this girl know that all of this "climate change" is because of man's actions which is the reason she is claiming? People are fawning all over her for no apparent reason except that she is this child in pigtails. She has no scientific credentials, no expertise in this field at all. Her only ability lies in using emotion to achieve what she desires.

Now for some reason, few people want to look at: A. The Sun. and B. The shifting of our poles. Yes, there has been a lot of activity with the sun in the past few years, and yes, it has been determined that our poles are indeed actually shifting from their present positions of axis.

Perhaps these are the reasons for all these climate fluctuations of late and if so there is nothing that man can do about it. We cannot forget that some of the things these "man made climate change" folks are after is ever more powerful governments and the redistribution of money. Some of the people in the "man made climate change" crowd are in line to make themselves a lot of cash over the issue, with our own former VP Al Gore as the perfect example of this with his buying and selling of carbon credits.

If you are so concerned about your children and grandchildren you should focus on the tremendous debt that we are placing upon them.

Now that is something we can actually do something about!

Extinguishing fires is not a solution to the increasing occurrence.

"Exceptional" wildfires, droughts, tropical storms, rising sea levels, famines, water shortages, etc, should be of concern to us all. We all have a global economy. Doesn't America have a problem also?

Selfish action, bombing cities & infrastructure, all add to the the pressure on populations to emigrate to seek stability. Temperature rise resulting in melting glaciers is a scientific observation. Denying that the use of fossil fuels is a contributing factor is not scientific.

100 years ago the North West Passage was impassable. Now you can book a luxury cruise.

So do you think that they are talking about the impending death of the sun when they say that it is getting larger? I thought we had millions and millions of years to go. Actually, I thought that sun spots caused the warming and there haven't been many of those for a long time so there is no global warming of any note. I mean Greenland no longer is green.

You don't like the message - shoot the messenger. Is this a Biblical attitude? Unhappily it is. As Stephen said -

The conversation with John is instructive -

Greta obviously has little personal knowledge & authority, but she has heard & believed a message that is supported by vast numbers of scientists & 100 years of data. Dismissing her message by the "cyborg" insult tells us for more about those who reject the message than about a real living teenager.

She's not an inspired prophet but her warning is valid.

More likely both natural events and man's activity.

We have the warning - surely we should act on it. Read how Pharoah reacted to God's warning of a time of plenty followed by a time of scarcity. And how prophetic warnings were consistently ignored by Israel.

That response ignores what was said or is a defense of “the ends justifies the means,” which is a typical leftist-progressive attitude, but hardly biblical.
