Nope, but why would that make a difference for federal taxes, which is what my post addressed. Did NJ raise their tax rates to try and grab any potential savings from the federal tax bill? (Would not be the first time such chicanery occurred.)

Thanks! Don't know why a NeverTrumper would move to a red state. NJ probably used to deduct all their high state taxes from their federal taxes and thus force us to pay more but that deduction was capped. Blue states are best for NeverTrumpers. Infowars found out that NeverTrumpers can't think of one good thing that Trump did although most of them got a tax cut. There is a video of a while Dem telling a black wearing a MAGA hat that blacks shouldn't wear that. The black guy told him that he is a racist.

The only ceiling I can recall was on the deduction for mortgage interest, at $10K IIRC which is way above the interest that would accrue to a house we could afford so I ignore it. There may be ceilings on other deductions/credits, but they'd be set at amounts way above anything in my life. However, someone buying a house with a $500K mortgage would need a 2% loan (not happening) to avoid losing out due to the ceiling.
