What do they have on this guy? I’ve heard various rumors, one being that he has a couple of adopted kids from out of the country that weren’t ‘properly’ adopted, another rumor about him having some trips with Epstein. Don’t know, but he has been a complete turncoat to the American people. Can SCOTUS’ be recalled? Oh, & trust me, I wasn’t visiting cnn when I linked this.

As did I. There is something in his closet that someone knew about and threatened him with and that is why he twisted himself into a pretzel over Obamacare.

With this census decision, he changed his mind, last minute, in the hallway. Does that sound right?

I think it is debatable whether Mr. Roberts will side with the liberal wing more than Mr. Kennedy, but clearly his vote cannot be counted on to overturn RVW. Thus we need to replace one additional liberal.

Yes. Truth be known I think he is exactly what Bush wanted him to be and knew that he was. The Bush family are wolves in sheep's clothing. They are pure globalists.

The problem isn't the justice. The problem is the expectation by some Christians that we should focus our efforts on a secular court. Some believe that "the only thing that matters" is getting conservative judges appointed. Conservative judges will follow settled law.

Every justice has publicly stated Roe is settled law. Only one has stated Roe was wrongly decided. That means every decision that is made begins with the foundation that abortion is a constitutionally protected right.

There is 0 chance of Roe being overturned, imo. That saddens me, but it is reality. The best argument is the "viability" argument, which is part of Roe . You may get a decision they limits abortions after 22-24 weeks, but even that will be hard to get.

The 2nd part of the best argument is the states rights argument, which may allow states to put restrictions on the late term abortions.

Speculation about specific justices and how they vote is a waste of time and will only lead to more disappointment.

    Peace to you

Can't forget his tortured explanation of why a penalty was a tax, when democrats had spent a lot of time stressing it wasn't. He sold out for political purposes. His ruling had nothing to do with the law.

And yet, he was said to be a great legal mind, and a hard conservative vote. The bottom line is this is a secular court that cannot, and should not, be expected to push religious views on the country.

    Peace to you

What does the census, or healthcare, which is not the job of the government, have to do with religious views? No one here has blamed him for RvW. Why should illegals be considered in the census? Better yet, why should illegals be afforded free healthcare, childrens education, foodstamps, or any other benefit of a citizen?

The weakness of that foundational stance begins to crumble when weighed against the constitutionally protected rights of life of the innocent unborn is established.

    Such the pessimist you are...

The argument that the unborn is dependent on the mother for survival so therefore the mother should have to right to choose whether or not to end it's life, whether or not this life is "viable" (capable of sustaining itself), is an argument that IMO is easy to defeat. A 1 year old's "viability" depends on the mother caring for it and feeding it, it cannot sustain it's own life - according to the reasoning of viability why wouldn't the mother of a 1 year old be lawfully allowed to CHOP IT UP WITH AN AXE if they no longer want to take responsibility for that life which is dependent of them?

This is a moral - right to life issue much more than a I should be able to do whatever I want with my body issue which includes up to murdering one's own child while disregarding the responsibility of being the cause of that life. .

I agree that to overturn Roe, the court would have to rule....

    1. Federal government has a compelling interest in protecting the life of an unborn baby.
    2. Human life begins at conception.
    3. The baby's right to life begins at conception
4.The baby's right to life over rules the woman's right to privacy.

I believe all of that is true. I sincerely doubt the court would ever rule for all four.

The original Roe decision mentioned "viability". Any future decision will have to address viability. That makes it more likely to get a favorable ruling concerning late term abortions (#1). That makes it far less likely to rule favorably on (#2,#3,#4).

    Peace to you

Others have argued that all issues are related to religious beliefs.

I’m not talking to others, is this what you believe? Sounds like a lala land premise where you can never be wrong. How convenient.

I understand the argument as all issues become moral issues and can be tied to religious views.

I do not believe Christians should focus on on politics, and a secular government, as a method to achieve religious goals.

    Peace to you

Hmmm, and I believe that about everyone else. Atheists, Communists, Socialists, Humanists, Secularists, Islamicists, Muslims, Hindus, Buddhists, New Agers, Cultists, pseudo-Christians, and other non-Christians and anti-Christians should not presume to use the US government to further their religious aims of undermining the moral fabric of US society and marginalizing and persecuting Christians, including censoring the Bible and outlawing following its dictates. Yours ends up being a false peace.

Scripture tells us to be different from the world. I never said anything about having peace with those who rebel against God.

    But I do pray for....

But that’s just it. Christians are different from the world, so different that a large number align against us. We can easily agree that we should pray. If Christians had no other civic duty whatsoever, you might have a stronger point. But there is no reason for me to think anything like that. In fact, it sounds too much like devilish deception.

The US was essentially founded by Christians with Judeo-Christian values and principles in the fore and at its core, with a direct, participatory government of “we the people.” No doubt Satan and his hordes would love it if all Christians now shirked their duty and shrank back from the God-granted opportunity to exert such direct positive influence provided by that arrangement.

I've never said Christians should not participate in government or politics.

The founders of this country knew from history that every time a government enforced religious views on its citizens the result was horrific. It remains true today.

I thank God that He established a country free from merging politics and enforcement of religious views on its citizens.

    Peace to you

You may not have understood my point, which is that other religious movements have aligned themselves against Christians and have been slowly forcing their religious views on us, using government power to do so. The country is not even close to being free from merging politics and religion. But if you haven’t noticed this, then it is no wonder you would argue as you do.
